I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
I am writing to see what can be done to get a non refundable fee returnedI answered an ad for a day trial that showed a 100% refund of the purchase price if not satisfiedI was talked into a set of hearing aids that required a $each and a $delivery fee for a total of $non refundable feeThis is NOT what the ad statedThe aids did not work properly since the first dayAfter one week it was determined one aid was defective and replacedThe new one did not work properly either and the original problem remainedAfter three weeks dealing with defective products, I returned them for a refundI have waited almost two weeks and have not received a check that I am entitled to getNo one from the company replied to an email I sentI feel I should be entitled to to a refund of this fee since the products never worked properly and the newspaper ad was misleadingThank you

check, a check for the refund of the purchase price less the nonrefundable charge stated in the Disclosure Agreement would need to be issued from our corporate office. Review: This complaint is being filed on behalf of my mother who is 87 years old. In 2009 she purchased a set of Miracle Ear hearing aids through Hearing Instruments Inc at the [redacted] location in [redacted]. On and off she had problems with them which they have dealt with, although neither of us can justify the money it cost to get this product. While I understand the warranty has expired in 2010 I feel todays situation needs to be addressed and taken care of by their company. My niece took her to have a check up at their [redacted] location and [redacted] the person at the center cleaned both of them with a cloth, and noticed that one of them was not working properly. She was unable to fix it there and said she would need to take it to her [redacted] office to repair. Within a couple of hours I received a call from their [redacted] office stating there was a problem, [redacted] explained both to me and to my wife, that she only cleaned it with a cloth and it fell apart. Now first of all, she had already done that in [redacted] and it didn't fall apart, why would it there? She claims it was to brittle and it just fell to pieces. This is the same hearing aid [redacted] puts in and out of her ear everyday, wouldn't it have fallen apart in her ear or hand if it was that brittle. I believe they broke the hearing aid as it was in one piece when they took it with them. Of course, since the mechanical warranty wore out, they don't want to stand behind their product and are refusing to do anything about it. This is crazy these aids cost $4700 and they are refusing to pay for their mistake. She was able to hear with it when she went there today, although not the best, now after their "repair" she doesn't have it at all. If she wiped it once and it didn't fall apart it should have fallen apart the 2nd time she did it either. I don't believe either of her stories, and to tell me cleaning them is a courtesy when she paid $4700 is hardly a free service.Desired Settlement: Item worked for the most part when it was taken by the representative and after she was to have wiped it off (for the second time) it broke. It sounds like it was neglect on their part and I feel they should replace the hearing aid.
The situation with [redacted]'s hearing aid has already been resolved. We are having the aid repaired at no cost to the patient.
