to being low on fluid causing failure to differential assembly. We found the front differential cover was bent up on the bottom causing fluid to leak out. We informed customer that there was Impact damage to the front differential cover and that It Is not a covered warranty repair. I contacted our Chrysler district manager and verified Chrysler will not cover this repair due to impact damage. As a goodwill gesture I told customer I would look at his estimate and offer a discount to try and help. He said he was towing his truck out. Customer was not charged on this service visit. The customer was contacted for permission to remove and disassemble transmission for "Service Contract Company" to inspect. Service Contract Company came...
to inspect damage to clutch seal failure. This repair wasdeclined because "seals" are not covered under the customer's plan. At this time we requested our loaner car back. They asked if we would install a "used transmission" in the vehicle which they supplied. An agreement on a price of $495 plus fluids, gaskets, and tax was made. We installed, filled and road tested. The service engine light came on. We asked if they would like us to diagnose the used transmission codes. They declined, we returned customers parts and settled the bill as agreed. Sincerely,Carl F
