RE:      [redacted]  Revdex.com Complain
To Whom It
May Concern:
The following
is in response to the Revdex.coms complaint filed by [redacted]
On August, 3rd...

2015, a representative from Dan the Doorman
by the name of [redacted] Works visited Mr. [redacted] to provide him a quote
on a new garage door and opener.  [redacted]
Works quoted Mr. [redacted] $1,575.00.
Mr. [redacted] gave [redacted] Works a deposit of $787.00 down to order the
door. We do require half down on all orders to process the order and to actually
order it.  [redacted] Works told Mr. [redacted]
that it would take approximately 2-3weeks to get the door in to our warehouse
and we are usually backed up a week on the schedule once the door gets to our
warehouse.  We ordered the door on August
5th once all the paperwork was processed and [redacted] got the
order.  Mr. [redacted] called on September
3rd inquiring about where his door was and [redacted] Works told him that
the door wasn’t in yet but he expected it any day now. [redacted] Works contacted
[redacted] Distribution center to find out where the order stood only to find
out the door had not been ordered yet. That was on September 3rd.  [redacted] forgot to order it and told us
at that time it would take 2- 3 weeks due to design of the panels. If he was to
order another door from anyone else he would have to wait 2-3 weeks as well.
[redacted], a sales representative and manager called a couple of companies to
inquire about the same panel configuration and was told 2-3 weeks as well. [redacted]
Works told Mr. [redacted] that he could not give him his money back due to the
signed proposal which clearly states that “the order is contingent upon strikes,
accidents and delays beyond our control”.  It also states that “There will be a 50%
restocking fee based on the full contracted amount on all cancellations”. Mr. [redacted]
stated that he wanted an owner to call him in regards to getting his money
refunded back.  That was on September 3rd.  Later that day, Steve [redacted], Vice
President & co-owner of Dan the Doorman, called Mr. [redacted] to inform him
about the 50 % restocking fee.  Mr.
[redacted] didn’t like what Steve [redacted] told him.  Steve [redacted] then told him that he could
give him the number to our law firm that represents us.  Mr. [redacted] said that Steve laughed when he
told him that he wanted a refund.  Mr.
[redacted] just said that this was no laughing matter. Steve just told him what
our contract states.  [redacted]rey [redacted] told
Mr. [redacted] the next day that the door would be in about 2-3 and he could
give him a discount of $  .  Mr. [redacted] didn’t want the discount or the
door and just wanted us to refund him his money. [redacted] told him he would
talk to the owner again when he comes in.  [redacted] discussed the whole order status
with Steve [redacted] and Mr. [redacted] said that there is a contract and he would
not issue a credit or there would be a restocking fee.  [redacted] and the account manager, [redacted] told him we would give him the refund of the deposit minus the 50%
restocking fee. The person responsible for issuing a refund was on her honeymoon
and wouldn’t be back for a week. Mr. [redacted] didn’t like that answer either.
We understand Mr. [redacted] frustration in this matter.  However, the proposal/contract that he signed
clearly states that there is a 50% re-stocking fee on cancellations.  It also states that we are not responsible
for conditions that are beyond our control.
The fact that [redacted] forgot to order the door is beyond our control.  We would like to resolve this issue and we
have offered $ 150.00 in discounts for the inconvenience.  We have already invested a lot of time and
money into this order and simply cannot refund the total amount of his deposit.
We understand that he has gotten his refund through his credit card company. So
we feel that this matter is closed.  We hope
this resolves this issue in regards to this complaint..
Sincerely,
Dan the Doorman, Inc.

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 10796600, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. It has now been 2 months since I paid Dan the Doorman a deposit of $787.00 for a new garage door and opener.  The work proposal clearly states that there is 2-3 weeks for delivery of the door and opener.  So, 8 weeks later, I have yet to receive new garage door from Dan the Doorman nor have I received a refund.  In the first two weeks of September, [redacted] contacted me from Dan the Doorman.  When I inquired about what happened to my order, Mr. [redacted] stated that the garage door was not ordered from the manufacturer.  Further, he stated that [redacted], the manufacturer, sends Dan the Doorman an invoice every week for products that are to be shipped in the two following weeks.  Mr. [redacted] stated to me that apparently his office, Dan the Doorman, had overlooked the fact that my door was not on the order from [redacted].  Further, Mr. [redacted] of Dan the Doorman confirmed that ordering a garage door is within their control.  I told Mr. [redacted] that I wanted a refund of my deposit because 5 weeks had passed and I had yet to receive a new door.  Mr. [redacted] stated he would issue a full refund of my deposit $787.00 and it would take 12 business days for the deposit to show up in my account.  Two days after telling me that he would issue a full refund of my deposit, Mr. [redacted] called me and stated, "We just found out you opened a Revdex.com complaint against us.  So now we are not going to issue you a refund."  I asked why, and Mr. [redacted] stated that Dan the Doorman would have to issue the refund through the Revdex.com.  I explained to Mr. [redacted] that issuing the refund to me would resolve the complaint.  Mr. [redacted] ignorantly claimed that he had to give the money to the Revdex.com to give to me.  Mr. [redacted] then stated that he would talk to the business owner and call me back.  No one from Dan the Doorman has called back.
The bottom line is I paid Dan the Doorman for a product that was never delivered to me, let alone ordered for me.  Dan the Doorman told me that they would issue a full refund for failing to deliver the product to me.  After Dan the Doorman learned I made a Revdex.com complaint, Dan the Doorman claimed they were not refusing to issue a refund to me.  2 months now, No refund, No door, just lies.
All I asked for is Dan the Doorman to recognized they made a mistake and issue a full refund of my deposit.  That has yet to happen, therefor this complaint is UNRESOLVED.
Regards,[redacted]
