We had talked to the [redacted] about dropping the vehicle off his son’s GMC Typhoon to have the suspension and transmission inspectedOn 2/14/work order #was createdConcern #1: Front end sways pretty bad! For the initial inspection of the front suspension, (which at no point were any of the wheels ever removed) we found that the upper & lower ball joints and idler arm are loose (very common on these vehicles)Concern #2: Feels like it shifts harder than it should be! We test drove the vehicle for transmission concerns and estimated recommendations on the vehicle. We called with the estimate for repairs and at this point of the phone call, [redacted] and his son had asked about a hard starting and long crank time during startups (which was not indicated when the work order was created)We explained that we had not experienced any starting issue thus farWe asked for permission to keep the vehicle overnight to try and duplicate the starting concern the following morning. The following morning, we started and drove the vehicle into the shop and tested for the starting concernWe started with the most logical failure by testing the fuel pump pressure and volume at the fuel pressure port under the hood, it was at this point the vehicle stalled (our diagnosis is that the fuel pump is weak and failed). An estimate for diagnosing and replacement the fuel pump was added to the estimate. At this point the customer had stated that the fuel pump has been replaced within the past year and that they are going to send a tow truck to pick up the vehicle (is it possible they removed the wheel well ?)Upon the tow truck taking the vehicle, the customer comes back into the store stating that the rear wheel well/splash shields have been completely removed from the vehicle also stating that he could see the fuel tankAt no point in any our services did we remove (or need to remove) the wheels or wheel wells for any reasonFor the suspension inspection, the customer stats in his complaint that we had to remove the wheels to inspect the suspension, this is simply not true! Everything for the suspension is between the wheels! Although we understand the customer’s frustration and sympathize with him in discovering his missing wheel wells, I believe he is falsely accusing us actions that are inconceivable! We cannot take responsibility for something we DID NOT DO Heartland Tire is a professional service center with honesty and integrity with many years of quality service to our customer’s and would never consider jeopardizing our reputation for anything! Our master technician (which was the only person working on this vehicle) is as professional and honest as a person can be! He has been employed with us for 18+ years and has never been accused or even questioned for anything like this before
