I bought a Packaged Terminal Air Conditioner and Heat Pump unit to heat and cool an area in my building that is about square feetI installed the unit myself according to the instructionsLess then month after installing, it started acting up by frosting over the outside coils and not producing enough heat to heat the roomBarely warm air was blowing out of the unit so we had to use an oil heater to heat the room, which is more costly to runWhen I called them to find out what I need to do, they would not talk to me because I am not a "technician" or a "professional installer"They wouldn't tell me who to call other then "Call your installer (myself) and they can get it fixed." Needless to say, they were no help at all but it was at the end of winter so we continued using the oil heater whenever we needed toThroughout the summer, the air conditioner worked great with absolutely no problems Fast forward to November when we need the heater againOnce again, it was frosting up again and barely putting any heat into the roomI called them back and this time they told me to call their "service center"This was days before Thanksgiving so they weren't going to be able to do anything until the following week when they could find a service provider to come fix itNo problemBack to using the oil heaterOver the next weeks and several calls to them, they still couldn't find a service provider in my areaI finally had to call a heating/AC contractor that I have used before to see if could repair itThey told me that they could so I gave their number to the service center to get the repair lined up because it was still under warrantyThey came out, looked at it, and THOUGHT that they were going to get paid for their time and the repair attemptThey told the service center what part they believed that it neededThey weren't positive because Heat Controller wouldn't give them any information about what the settings were supposed to be on it Finally after several more phone calls to the "service center", I get the factory to send me the part that was thought that it neededAfter installing the part, it still didn't fix the issue and was still frosting upI was told to call a person at the factory (Mark Hamilton) and he would walk me through diagnosing it furtherAfter talking to Mark, and telling him that it was installed on an interior wall, he said that if we just turn the temp control up further, it should work fine days later, I get a bill in the mail from the heating/AC company that came out and tried fixing it because they service center/factory refused to pay their bill even though it was under warrantyAfter a few more phone calls, I find out that Mark, at the factory, voided my warranty because the unit was installed on an interior wallThe instructions said absolutely nothing about putting it on an interior wallI read the instructions again just to make sure that I followed the instructions to the letter I would not recommend this company to anyone because they do not stand behind what they make at all
Ordered a comfort aire mini split unitIt's less than years oldMy indoor part of this unit developed a leak in the evaporator coil, and now they are saying it's obsolete and they offer no replacements or helpyears isn't old, I should get much longer out of this unit
