Our family member died and they refused us access but their employees decided they will help themselves instead! All with smiles on their faces. Ronkonkoma Heatherwood is a dump and hopefully charges will be pressed! Certainly doesn't deserve any stars. Remember what you do to someone comes back in 3 fold

Luxury, hmm 1970's stove, 1980 dishwasher, old air conditioners, no pool, no tennis court, told we can use another heather wood 20 miles away. Tish James please investigate Douglas Patrick and this Dump Operation.

What a joke. AVOID HEATHERWOOD AT ALL COSTS. It's all well and good if you can pay the ridiculous rent for a sub par dirty outdated location. But if you have issues paying rent once prepare to be kicked to the curb and treated with zero respect. You can call customer service and ask exactly what you need to pay in fees, but their incompetent employees have no idea what the fee schedule is and seem to arbitrarily pull numbers out of nowhere that don't actually represent the amount owed. Don't try to call them on it, because they do not care about you. Maybe you'll get the same smug manager who dealt with me. Rather than acknowledging his failure as a manager to make sure his employees do their jobs, he'll repeat the same line to you over and over about the policies in the lease (policies they themselves don't seem to be fully aware of). I wonder where it says in my lease that I have to deal with fools who can't add numbers together to tell me what I owe them? You do not matter to them. ALSO, had a lovely experience first thing in the morning trying to call. The office opens at 9:30, but god forbid you call at 9:35. Whoever my call was directed to picked up and immediately hung. Now that's some real professionalism right there. Clearly it's too much to ask these employees to do their job during their business hours. BY THE WAY, don't swear on the phone with them. They seem to have ruined enough lives that they had to make a policy of fining people for speaking their mind towards this garbage place! That part's actually kinda funny. If you're ok with paying stupid amounts of money for one of the worse places you'll live with a landlord that sees you as nothing more than dollar signs, go for it. But if you want a respectable place that actually cares about its residents, go far far away and never look back. Can't wait for them to either ignore this review, or reply with an empty "We value all opinions, but we're not going to do anything". DO NOT GIVE THESE MONSTERS YOUR MONEY.

I confirmed with the leasing agent at Heatherwood about available units within my price range and the same apartments were listed on the company’s webpage. 20 minutes after I submitted my application online and paid $400. $100 application fee and $300 rent deposit. Another 20 min later called back to hear the manager’s nasty tone saying those apartments were no longer available in any of the locations and the only ones that were available had significantly higher price. She cancelled my application the same minute and said someone would get back to me to see what they may have. I confronted her that she was obviously lying to me. Anyways, that was back in May and I’m still $400 short. Heatherwood lied to me about availability and illegally retain my $400. If this request won’t resolve shortly, my next stop will be the courthouse. I hope Hearherwood has some sober people who have dignity of returning my $400 that they have no right to possess. Be aware people

On 9//18 I completed an open application with my future wife for a 1 bedroom apartment in their property Hillcrest Village and Spruce Pond. A check was given in the amount of $435 for a credit check fee and deposit. Once submitted we did not hear anything back. A month went by and a phone call to Heatherwood would result in chasing down a leasing agent for our status. After multiple emails and phone calls, no one returned our calls, so then we decided to rent with someone else. I called the main office and requested a refund and cancellation of our application. I was told by the customer service supervisor it would take a month for a refund. A month and some days passed with no refund. I called once again and I was told that because my application was approved, I forfeit the whole payment I made. At no point did a representative from Heatherwood tell or email us that we were approved or on a list to rent.

In November, I had signed a lease for an apartment and my security deposit and first months rent was taken and deposited. In January (1 month before move in) the community had notified me that the lease was null and they did not have the apartment available that they had advertised to me. They told me they have a comparable apartment, so I signed another lease in January for a different apartment in the same community. Yesterday, 28 days before move-in, I called to check in on the apartment and was told that they no longer have it available. My money was taken and deposited for an apartment that was falsely advertised as available when it was not. The money could have been collecting interest in my bank account these past few months, but it was deposited by heatherwood and collecting interest for them. Along with that, I have a few thousand dollars in movers, furniture purchases and days taken off of work for the moves planned that I cannot get back. I would like the apartment since it is what I signed my lease for (washer dryer in unit, second floor balcony, and on the sunny side of the complex) and I will not settle for something that is not comparable to this. Or, I would like my money returned, including interest it would have collected in my account, plus damages I have paid for movers, furniture, and days off of work for both moving dates (feb *** and March )

I went to there rental office location back in November to apply for an apartment at the center moriches location. They did not have the apartment available that I wanted. The woman there told me to apply online and the application fee was 100.00 plus 300.00 to hold an apartment and if I wanted to switch to a different location I could. I was told I would not get 100.00 back which is the application fee, but I would get my 300.00 back. I qualified but proceeded to find out the apartment at the colony park location had roach issues went to the location rental office and the woman did not deny the bug problem. So I never signed any application there was no signature on the online app. My mother laid out the money with her credit card. I have tried calling and they referred me to the supervisor but she never called me back. I want my 300.00 back because I never signed a lease and never accepted a written contract with these people. I was mislead by the woman at the center moriches location rental office

Bad Place to Live: I'm being bullied constantly terrifying maintenance men who made up this last work order in attempt to barge in and cause me serious heart and health problems. I am being harassed by them I saw one on my patio late one night and they do not respect that I am an assault victim and do not feel comfortable with being alone with them in my apartment. They violate my civil rights as a woman and a disabled person. I have asked them to stop and they refuse to. I am a handicapped female living alone who was assaulted by a heroin addict as well as had several assaults on my person. They allow junkies and vagrants to loiter in the laundry room at night after hours. This person who beat me up was someone I knew who lives there, had posed as a HHA. I am visually impaired from a neurological impairment and never saw it coming they hit me like a professional, beat a 51 year old with osteoporosis, spinal disease and other disabilities as if knowing martial arts. I have metal in my neck and this person was trying to break my neck while screaming "I'm gonna kill you! I was awaiting more spinal surgery when I was assaulted. Heatherwood does not believe it happened and if they do they do not care. I am being EVICTED FOR TAKING CARE OF MY HOME because of the phony work order I never put IN BUT SIMPLY ASKED ABOUT. Heatherwood management could care less what kind of housing project they offer or what happens to their handicapped seniors I am almost a senior. I found a homeless man sleeping in the laundry room one winter when I first moved in 2014.I also had my cat threatened and I paid a lot of money for them some neighbors here are hateful to animals not all of them, some of them love the babies but get in trouble, but some will threaten cats. I can't even enjoy my patio and the cops are here all the time and also bully the victims. I wanted to file a restraining order against these particular maintenance men and I end up getting bullied by the cops. This place was nice but went down hill fast! Wait there is more and this could have killed people in my building. A fire hazard that I found after they fixed a microwave night light wrong twice. I knew that when the maintenance guy said,"oops" something was wrong and when my light shorted out after the second time fixing it I knew there had to be a faulty lamp holder. It turned out the parts were corroded so I bought brand new GE parts and thereafter found that they never had the correct bulbs in, we Skyped up a professional and it was a snap to fix. so I get a HEATHERWOOD WARNING that I am in violation of my lease for fixing a part and their argument was that I was not taking care of my home! UM DUH I AM TAKING CARE OF MY HOME PLUS I just saved Lives These ARE NOT LUXURY APARTMENTS they are shoddy workmanship and me and my 73 year old mother could do a better paint job and fix a light bulb! Your not allowed to paint yet they charge you a "redecorating fee" and they make a stink about feeding little birdies and fine you large sums of money unnecessarily for loving Gods animals. you can't breathe here or fart without maintenance slapping you with a nasty letter in your door. RUN THE OTHER WAY ABSOLUTELY THE WORST PLACE FOR ANY HUMAN DISABLED OR NOT.
