Review: My son and I went to see a 3:15 movie of Fast and Furious at the Heavenly Movie Theatre on Thursday, 6/6/2013. When we got back to our hotel (about 10 min away) at the Lake Tahoe Vacation Resort, we realized we left our iPad in the theatre on the seat in between us. We called the theatre letting them know and also letting them know that we were going to be coming back to retrieve it. When I sent my son there, they were unable to give a clear answer. They went and checked the movie theatre and it wasn't there.The only people in the theatre were us, and an older woman sitting in front. The only other person in was whoever cleaned the theatre. When my son was there they seemed to be giving answers that were avoiding the obvious. They kept playing dumb and were being clueless about the whole matter. After about 20 minutes arguing there, I decided I needed to go down there myself and try to get things straight. There is no way that after 15-20 minutes an iPad just disappears. I spoke to the manager [redacted] and was getting the same clueless and helpless answers that they gave my son. I think it is ridiculous that they were not able to help some more. The least they could have done was to help us find it. I called the Theater owner, [redacted] on Thursday evening, but have not received a return phone call. When we returned on Friday afternoon, [redacted] said that he had just gotten off the phone with her but we still have not received a return call. We would like to get your assistance in finding this iPad. As soon as someone connects to wifi on it we will find it. But it is also password protected. Therefore the missing iPad is useless to whoever is in possession of it. We request your help with anything you can do to help us. As I said, there is no way that an iPad just disappears after 15-20 minutes in a practically empty theatre. It just doesn't happen, and something seems off about how this all went down. Approximately 6:00 p.m. Thurs. June 6th, [redacted]'s son ([redacted]) came into the lobby of the Heavenly Village Cinema and asked if an I-Pad had been turned in. [redacted] the manager, told him that an I-Pad had not been turned in. He said he and his father had watched the 3:15 p.m. show of the Fast & Furious movie in auditorium #5 and he wanted to go back into the auditorium to check if the I-Pad was left there. An usher with a flashlight accompanied [redacted] to auditorium #5 to search for a lost I-Pad. After nothing turned up, [redacted] said he would go check in his parent's car in case it was left there. A short time later [redacted], ([redacted]'s father) and his wife came into the cinema and asked if his I-Pad had been found, [redacted] a manager told him it had not. [redacted] and an usher accompanied them into auditorium #5 to search for an I-Pad. After an I-Pad did not turn up, [redacted] told [redacted] he had tracking capabilities and he was going to track his I-Pad and if it was in the cinema, he was going to call the police. [redacted] said that would be a good idea if he could track the whereabouts of his lost I-Pad. [redacted] also gave him the Heavenly Village Cinema office phone number so he could get in touch with [redacted], business administrator & owner. Friday, June 7th, [redacted] came back to the cinema to see if an I-Pad had been turned in to Lost & Found. A return call was given to [redacted], Mon. June 10th, as the recorded message he left on his phone machine at XXX-XXX-XXXX said he would not return and or be available until Mon. June 10. In that subsequent conversation, we discussed that I would investigate the possibility he left his I-Pad in auditorium #5 after the 3:15 p.m. show of the Fast & Furious let out on June 6 at the Heavenly Village Cinema. The auditorium has been searched by [redacted], his wife and son, accompanied by the employees several times. As of today, no I-Pad has been found. [redacted] stated to us he will be able to locate his I-Pad with its tracking device capability, we hope he is successful.
