Heavy Metal Restoration Reviews (1)

Review: In September of 2011 I contacted Heavy Metals Restorations to restore my 1970 Pontiac Trans Am to show car quailty. This was based on remmendations from other customers and checking out prior work they at done. The price was $24,000 with possible additional labor charges once the car was taken apart. The car was driveable and in very good condition when presented to Heavy Metal. Reason to restore the car was it was the wrong shade of white a big deal in the classic car area. After taking the car completely apart I was quoted a new price of $30,000 which I agreed to with a completion date of late August 2012. The motor was sent to another shop to be rebuilt and is not in question althought Heavy Metal was suppose to reinstall the motor. Metal work went well for several months I was informed of problems in late 2011 with getting a good clean coat of paint on the car. Work came to a complete halt and I was given numerous excuses. The business moved from Danville VA where I first dropped the car off at to the new location in Pelham NC early this year. Recently I was told the car was basically done but they were having problem getting the paint to take to the rubber bumper. Out of benefit of the dought I purchased a $750 bumper and had it sent to Heavy Metal. I was never late with a payment and at one point I was told I owed another $5000 but I showed them by their receipts I had paid in full. Once they were 11 months past the due date I informed [redacted] two weeks ago I was coming for the car on Aug, 2 2013. When I arrived I found the car still completely taken apart in a thousand pieces. No work had been attemped in months. I traiered the car home.

Order_Number: NA

Account_Number: NADesired Settlement: I had several estimates in my area of Maryland to complete the car. It would have to be completely stripped and repainted than put back together. To the show quality agreed to by Heavy Metal will cost $20,000 in Maryland to complete the car. I paid $30,000 to Heavy Metal (Mr. [redacted]) and have a shell of a car needing to be painted and reasembled.
