Hecht Trailers

Review: I rented a trailer in Sept 2014 to store my furniture while I was elevating my house. When I unloaded the trailer on May 9 2015, I realized some of my items were damaged due to a water leak. Based on the condition of the items, I believe the trailer must have been leaking when it was delivered. I called to let them know and I was told (by [redacted]) to send an email detailing the damage so a claim could be started. I sent the email with pictures the next day. No response of any kind. I called about a week later - they put me thru to the person who handles complaints/claims ( [redacted]') no answer, I left a voicemail. No response. A week later I called again to find out what they were doing about my complaint - same result, I left a voicemail with [redacted]. No response. I called again on June 11 and was routed to [redacted]'s voicemail again. I called back and explained my situation to the receptionist( emailing, leaving voicemails and not getting a response). She said she was sorry that [redacted] did not contact me, but that there really is no claim system - they are not responsible. She said most people go thru their homeowners insurance.

Issues: Deception - I contacted them 4 times and was led to believe a claim for damages would be filed.

Horrible customer service - No one ever got back to me.

Faulty Product - the trailer I rented to protect my furniture and other household items was leaking. They should be responsible for the damage to my itemsDesired Settlement: I would like:

1 - Compensation for water damaged items caused by their faulty product

2- explanation as to I was lied to about ability to file a claim for damage

3- a real apology for their horrible treatment of a customer
