Hedberg Heating and Air

Absolutely do NOT recommend this shady and unprofessional company! I was sent to them through a warranty company. For a problem that has been going on for over a month now with NO SOLUTION! They came out promptly to inspect the unit...spent 10 minutes and left. A month later they finally come back out but not until after I had to call them multiple times along with the warranty company to find out what was going on. Neither company knew what the problem was and they were both quick to blame the other. Finally got that sorted out and they came out again to perform the repairs. The technicians left a mess in my house as they did not care about your property. Insulation, dirt, oil, you name it, they got it on my carpet (as my unit is in the attic). They took the coils to a car wash to clean it..while this may be how some do it, it's shady to me. You don't know what they're doing to sabotage your unit further. Upon coming back they look at the outside unit and after an hour or so they say they need a senior tech to look. When asked when they'll be out we were told the next day before 11 AM by RJ. When they left, I went outside to find out they left my gate wide open. Thank God I didn't let my dogs out with it open. My unit was disconnected AND the caps where the freon goes in were missing. ALL of them. No communication as to why any of this was done. My significant other called them 3 times after 11 Am to find out what was going on and whomever answered the phone was extremely rude to her. The third time they even hung up on her. 4 hours later, they finally call saying they're on their way. At this point we hired someone else. Tried to get things right with the warranty company due to my AC being completely shot and was told last week Hedberg would be here on 6/22. Here it is 6:50 PM and no call no show yet again. They refused to give a window time frame and according to the warranty company, they don't give those because they don't know when their techs will be done with other jobs. What company doesn't give a window? Even Best Buy gives you a window time frame. I took the day off yet again when I have more important things to do than sit around in a hot house because of this company. They were given one last chance to show up the following day and yet again, they proved how little they care about you as they were yet again a no call no show. The worst part is, they claim to be Veteran owned. As two vets (one being disabled) lives in this house, this is HIGHLY unacceptable behavior. Do yourself a favor and do NOT use this company.

After installing a new a/c unit inside home, water leaked into hall and damaged the wood flooring. A call was made to Hedberg. Two (2) week later they called back and said they needed to come out and inspect damage. They never did. I found a flooring contractor who estimated the repairs to be $700-$800. Hedberg Heating and Air called contractor and settled for around $600 and said they would pay him after he completed job and Hedberg inspected the work. Several calls and emails to Hederg were made stating I was to received the repair funds directly so I could pay the contractor directly when they completed the job on the same day.
After waiting on them for a response more emails were sent asking them send to me the funds for repair. In a email they said they would go directly to their office in Corpus Christi and pay them directly $600 and asked my permissison to do so. I said "yes" in another email. They never did. I am stilling waiting. The flooring contractor never agreed to anything between he and Hedberg other than the $600 estimate I am still waiting for funds to complete the job. I probably will have to find another contractor now and the repair estimate willl probably change

Hedberg initially showed up to service my AC unit a day after we scheduled the appointment. The man who claims to be the owner showed up and my house, rang the door bell and then just walked in, not waiting for me to answer the door. He was in plain clothes, having nothing to even identify him as a contractor. He attempted to charge me for 4 lbs of refrigerant after his tech told me they only used 1 lb. They were going to have to come back again to finish the service and they wouldn't give me even an idea of what time I could expect them. I was having to coordinate the appt with my realtor to give them access and when I pressed RJ to give me just a 5 hour block to expect them, RJ yelled at me and said, "we'll be there when we get there" and then hung up on me. In addition, they have never been able to provide documentation of what they have worked on prior to leaving a service call. This company is unprofessional, shady and they have no idea what customer service is. Hedberg is the single worst company I have ever had to deal with.

Hedberg Heating and air was selected by American Home Shield warranty company to service my mini-split AC system. The technician they sent looked at the system, worked on it a while, saying he had "tightened some stuff" to fix the incredibly loud noise and vibration coming from the outside unit. He left the first day saying we needed to call back if there was a a continued problem. The sound and vibration was exactly the same overnight, so I called the next morning.

They came out, and I stood there while we all listened to the noise. He said he thought he knew what the problem was and got to work. About 45 minutes later, he asked me to come up. I noticed there was some insulating material removed from my unit and laying by the side. He said that the inside of the unit was corroded so bad that there was no way to properly anchor the compressor, so it was shaking badly when it started working. He said he added some insulation and zip ties.

We listened as the compressor kicked on, and it was as bad as ever. It is VERY loud and vibrates through the ceiling so we hear it in other rooms of the house.

He said he couldn't fix the problem, so he would submit a claim to American Home Shield.

The claim was submitted by the owner of the company, not the technician The owner never inspected the unit. The claim he submitted stated that the noise was "normal" and there was "no mechanical failure."

When I spoke with the owner on the phone, I asked why they couldn't fix it, and he said that in the condition it was in, the only thing to do is to get a new unit, that it is not fixable, but he would not change his report, because it is still heating and cooling for the moment.

As a result, I was denied by American Home Shield warranty company, and an stuck with an incredibly loud, vibrating unit that can't be fixed.

They have stopped taking my calls and won't return my messages.
