The contractor did reimburse us the $and the $ But he didn't apply the $we paid him for the shower door towards the shower door Now he is saying that the $he is applying to the work he said he had done for free He also never addressed the work we had paid for in adavnce but he didn't do and we had credits that had already covered that workHe came to fix the items we had on our list but he said he couldn't fix our floorsWhich will leave me having to save up to get them done over when it just been little over months and the floors are squeaking He did some work on the niche but again he didn't do a good job He tried to do a quick fix and it didn't work or look goodHe was also supposed to replace a kitchen cabinet that his crew had damaged and he lied to me that he ordered a replacement I called the store and they told me they have not spoken with him and nothing was ordered I told *** that I had called the store and he said he ordered the cabinet after our conversation I went to the store on Friday and they informed me that he had not been there to order it So he lied to me a second time So I placed the order on Friday for the cabinet and sent him a copy of the receipt for reimbursement.
Thanks,

this remodel project did take longer than expected.  their were several major changes made by the home owner concerning the bathroom, trim and kitchen. In the kitchen the home owner ordered her own cabinets and countertops.  This was a major delay, also it being an older home none of the...

walls were square in height.  This caused a major problem, and major modifications were done to allow the cabinets to be installed properly and level.       The shower was originally planed as a 36" x48" as agreed upon by customers. The shower pan was purchased, and then the customer changed their minds and decided on total tile shower. There was no adjustment to my contract for extra time and labor. I also purchased quarter round and base trim that was reflected in the second invoice and the customer decided that that was a cost they didn't not want to accrue.  I decided to run the trim in the areas that were on the second invoice free of charge.  Receptacle and light switches were also replaced throughout the  free of charge.  Before we left the project my team and I requested a punch list of things that needed attention.  We took care of them, and received a call a few days later with Another punch list. We returned in a timely fashion.  The remaining balance owed was $849.00.  I estimated the cost of the glass inclosure for the shower to be roughly $500.00 (for the original shower agreed on).  I informed the home owner of the cost of the glass enclosure of the custom shower and to "keep" the remaining balance owed to me for payment towards custom glass enclosure.  the price included labor as well from the glass company.
To resolve this issue I have told the homeowners that I will taken care of the small trim and settling cracks in shower when I was able to come myself or send an employee.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  What was stated by the contractor is false and inaccurate.  Upon purchasing the home the contractor did a walk through with us 3 times (1 time by himself, 2nd time with his wife and a 3rd time with an associate).  The 2nd and 3rd trip he took notes.  But each visit it was stated that we wanted to completely redo the master bathroom and kitchen.   The master bathroom we wanted the shower completely tiled and the toilet enclosed and redo flooring.  The kitchen we wanted to remove the cabinets and flooring and replace with all new cabinets and flooring.   I had expressed at the time that I would like to relocate the placement of the stove as well.  So the contractor knew upfront this was a major redesign when he provided his estimate.   The size of the shower was never discussed with us, all I was told was that we will have a huge shower but not given the exact dimension.  When I saw that the shower base that had been purchased I immediately addressed this with the contractor as it was not what we had initially discussed during our walk through.  The contractor went back to his notes and he found that we had indeed asked for the shower to be completely tiled.   I’m not pleased that we are now being blamed for what was clearly an oversight on his part.  The contractor could have gone with a square design the same size as the shower base but he and his crew did a totally different design instead.  I had no knowledge nor was it stated at any time before any of the tile were laid that his new design was going to cost more to have a shower enclosure and door installed.  We were told after the shower had been tiled that the first glass company he usually use could not even make it, so he had to find another company that could.  We were not informed of this until all the work was done.  I have no problem with the design he choose, but what I have a problem with is that as an experience contractor he should have known about how much the glass shower enclosure and door was going to cost or inquire about it before providing an inaccurate estimate or doing a new design he knew nothing about.  The $500 he estimated is huge difference from $1800 that is costing for the shower enclosure and door and in turn leaving us to deal with it.  We have been in our home since 1/14/15 and we still do not have our shower enclosure/door.  I’ve paid the initial fee of $900 due to order the shower enclosure/door and the remainder is due after installation.  As a contractor I would think that this would be unacceptable to leave a client with no shower door and leave the client to handle it on their own.  We should not have to incur the cost of his mistakes.   With the balance that was left of $844.25, we had agreed that I would use that to put toward the door along with the $500 (that he stated was his estimate for the shower enclosure/door) but I mentioned to the contractor that he should be responsible for the remainder of that $1800 which is $455.75.   We should not have to come out of pocket for his mistakes.  We are still waiting on the reimbursement of $129 for the items that had to be fixed by someone else that he said he would reimburse us for.  The failure of this project is not our fault as we have been as patient as we could have been through all the delays and issues that have occurred.  The only change we made to the master bathroom was for him not to put a door to access the closet in the master bathroom but have it accessible from the bedroom and not put in a door where the toilet is located.  These were not major changes that caused delays to the project.   I did have to order the cabinets and it took about a week for them to come in but they were not ready to install so they sat for week before they were put together.  Once he had them assembled then it was another week before they started installing them.  We did have 2 cabinets that were damaged during shipping but that did not have to hinder the installation all the other 20 cabinets that needed to be installed, which I had expressed several times but was ignored.  A cabinet was damaged by his crew and we are still waiting on that to be fixed as well, as again we have been patient as much as possible with all that we wenth through.  The delays that came in to play were not due to changes from us but due to resource issues he was having with his crew and the things they had to re-do as a result of not being done correctly the first time.   It was mentioned that work was done for free, but what wasn’t mentioned was worked that we had paid for that we decided we didn’t want done so we had some credits but they were conveniently not reflected on any of the invoices (Note: items paid for on the 1st invoice but we decided not to do, demolition and new flooring in foyer, remove gas heater and install shelving and cabinets in wash room, relocate toilet and no door was added to the toilet enclosure).  So no work was done for free as we had a credit.   I had expensive tile that was laid down incorrectly and had to be taken up, that I could not return.  I did not ask to be reimburse for that.  We have tried to be patient even though we did not receive the quality of work we had paid for and hoped for.  As the shower was not tiled to satisfactory and I had asked for the shower niche to be fixed better and that was not done but we did not ask for our money back.  The flooring was not done properly as we have gaps showing up in the flooring.   We still have gaps in the flooring that was put in upstairs and now more gaps are now in the flooring in the kitchen.  We have brought this to the contractor’s attention several times but it has not been fixed and we did not ask for our money back.  The contractor said if we had issues he would come and fix them.  I created a punch list not just of some random items but items that we paid for that wasn’t done properly.  From the punch list all items were not completed or done properly, so he was asked to come back and address them.   On 2/13 the contractor came to the house to fix an issue where they left a pipe cut that was leaking water, which could have cause water damage and also potentially a fire.  The other items that were on the list were to be addressed at that time as well.  But only the pipe issue was fixed at that time.  He said he would be back to fix the remainder items but he has not been back yet.  I reached out to him again on 2/18 and he said he would come that day and he did not show or call and rescheduled.  On 2/19 – I reached out to him again and he said he would try and come that day but he had too much work.  No surprise, he did not show up that day and as of 2/26 he has not setup another time to come and address the items.  The acceptable resolution is to have the items that need to be fixed, fixed in a timely manner and the contractor to cover the entire cost of the shower enclosure/door ($455.75 remainder) and the $129 reimbursement.
