Hein Tax Service Reviews (%countItem)

My husband and I filed our taxes jointly on Feb 12th 2019. We waited 6 weeks for our electronic deposit to come through. Nothing happened. So we called Hein Tax service and received very little help from the employees. They basically said there is nothing they can do. With many failed attempts to get ahold of a real person at the IRS, we finally got through and found out that our information was entered incorrectly by our tax accountant. With a $26,000 difference on our income, the IRS held up our tax return for 7 MONTHS. We finally received the return for $2,000 MORE than we were told we would get by our tax accountant. I have called and tried to let someone know what we went through and ask why this may have happened and all I get is the answering machine. I understand mistakes happen but we were so simple. No deductions or itemizations. Just basic incomes and we claimed 0. If you use them beware.

Addressing the above referenced ID #, *** did call the office on April 4, 2019 and I spoke with her explaining to her that the IRS would not talk with me even though I was the preparer because their 2018 Tax Return was filed as Married Filing Joint due to their marriage in 2018 and not filed individually as "Single" in previous years. There is alot of fraud in that area and the IRS needs to verify with the Taxpayer personal information in order to determine the legitimacy of the return. *** claims she called our office several times after the filing season and only reached the answering machine. I claim that she didn't leave any messages for me to return her call. After filing season I'm the only person in the office daily due to the decrease of the work load and I will leave to run errands like going to the post office and bank and to a clients place of residence or place of business. I generally leave for lunch as well. Had I received a message I would have returned ***'s call. Additionally, if the IRS made changes to the return I did not receive any copy of notices from them or the ***. Yes, a 2017 W-2 Form information which the client brought in with their 2018 W-2 forms was entered erroneously by an employee of mine and two checkers also missed the date on the W-2 Form. This is done from time to time due to the small print on the modern day W-2 forms. I have spoken to *** recently and have informed her that the normal refund time was not only extended due to the W-2 form, but also because of the recent marriage and change in filing status and also the size, or large amount, of the refund. The IRS tends to scrutinize returns of this nature for a longer periord of time. I would've been more than happy to further pursue the matter with the IRS and *** had I been given the opportunity. As discussed with her, the error in fact afforded them a larger refund than anticipated, but couldv'e been a possible cause of the delay. But, remember I did not receive any written correspondence from the IRS or the Newtons explaining the reason for the delay. I feel the delay was not 100% of *** fault. I conveyed to *** that I would be willing to prepare their 2019 Income Tax Returns at no charge. She originally requested a full refund of their tax preparation fee ($150), which I informed her was a discounted rate due to the longevity of her family members being clients of ours. During our discussion last week she indicated that even a 75% refund of the fee may be acceptable. At this time, I'm proposing the "No Charge" for the 2019 preparation, or a 50% refund of the $150 preparation fee. Looking forward to a mutually agreeable resolution! Sincerely, *** HEIN TAX SERVICE LLC

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Sincerely

I had a tax issue and they did a return for me. The money I paid to state was refunded which the entire return was done incorrectly. I obviously paid more than I needed to as the forms I provided were either not used properly.
