Worst place to rent from in the city of Duluth hands downI rented two different houses through Heirloom while attending UMD and had nearly my whole security deposit taken each time unfairlyThis company takes advantage of college students and the credibility they lack due to their ageAfter losing most of my security deposit a second time and after leaving a negative review on Facebook, Heirloom told me that if I changed my negative review on their page that they would reimburse me some of my depositThis may be one of the sketchiest business practices that I have ever encounteredI left my positive review and after receiving some of my deposit back I changed the review to how I really felt about them - NegativeHeirloom then disabled the reviews on their Facebook pageJust like the other reviews on them, I too had problems with Heirloom taking minutes out of their day to answer the phone or to call me backI would have rather had them tell me that they were unable to solve whatever problem I was having than to ignore my calls for days at a timeI would never recommend renting from this company to anyone

They then deposited it, causing major problems with our bank accountManagement has, in the past, been very unprofessional on the phone with me as wellI will not rent from them again, nor will I recommend them to others
My fiancé and I were moving to Duluth because I had accepted a higher paying position in the area and we had done two showings with heirloom property management and had set up a lease and sent our deposit in, while the money/lease was in transit, heirloom allowed another person to sign the lease and accepted their deposit even though we had an agreement that we would be the renters and went through all of the hassles of applying for $each ($60), getting money orders from the bank, printing the lease in another city since we don't have internet or a printer, and sending all of it inThe property manager didn't even call me to tell me the news, rather she texted me saying "I wanted to let you know that we have received a signed lease and security deposit from another applicant and this property is no longer availableWe do not have property coming available that may meet your needsHere is the craigslist ad http://duluth.craigslist.org/apa/**SSN**.html it will be available at the end of November Thanks Dana @ Heirloom"I am absolutely astonished that they would find this suitable to do to people
