Dear Ms. [redacted], The following is a summary leading up to the...

complaint, which was submitted on 2/25/2015, and assigned an ID of [redacted]:
1.      The customer fell behind in June, 2014;2.      We accepted an arrangement to make a partial payment and promise for full payment 6/13/14;3.      The customer confirmed this arrangement the day before, however failed to make payment;4.      We had no contact with the customer until 6/26/14, when the customer informed us she was unable to pay for another few weeks;5.      It was recommended that she make one (1) payment to allow more time to catch up; it was past due for nearly four (4) payments;6.      The customer was to call back to following day, but no call was received;7.      On 7/9/2014, we assigned a field agent to attempt contact at the customer's residence.  She handed over the keys and surrendered the vehicle;8.      No contact was made until 2/25/2015, when we received a call from customer; and9.      She requested the deficiency balance, and would not commit to payment.
Daniel D[redacted], our Collections Manager, reached out to Ms. [redacted] to confirm the accuracy of the preceding, which was acknowledged.  Mr. D[redacted] apologized for any inconvenience, or negative experience.  The customer was satisfied with the resolution, and they discussed arrangements, towards settling her deficiency balance.  Ms. [redacted], if I could be of further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Respectfully submitted,Sean M[redacted], Compliance Officer

Initially, I had no issue with Helm Associates. People may complain about the fees, but hey, it's for not-so-great credit! So, you get what you get. I have had not an issue in the world with them until recently. I traded in one car for another. A week later, Helm accidentally withdrew $450 out of my account, causing a huge overdraft to occur. I was charged overdraft fees. Initially, though I was incredibly upset, it was alleviated to some point by the kind and courteous representatives I spoke with. Fast forward two weeks later and there is an issue with them refunding my fees because the Finance Manager Mike M[redacted] was somehow unable to understand a simple bank statement which clearly stated that two overdraft fees had been withdrawn from my account. How he can manage finance and not understand a bank statement is flabbergasting! In any event, Mr. [redacted] was rude, abrasive, unprofessional, and above all WRONG! He yelled at me, argued me down and talked over me as if I were an it and he was flat wrong! Based on this cretin alone, I will NEVER do business with Helm again. I asked to speak with his manager and was told that his manager was the owner who “speaks to no one”. That being the case, I will be sure to leave reviews wherever I can to ensure this does not happen to another soul. And I will ensure that I spread the word about this company to my friends and family as well. We all make mistakes and I could have forgiven Helm for this blatant mistake if not for this disrespectful person.

RE:      ID #[redacted]             [redacted] Dear [redacted], Daniel D[redacted], our Collections Manager, was able to contact [redacted] to discuss her complaint. To recap, the customer felt "misrepresented" at the...

time of purchase, and claimed the salesperson told her that the loan was in the amount of $5,000, with a one year term. The customer acknowledged receiving the loan documents, but said she did not read them; only signed where required. Mr. D[redacted] explained the Federal Truth in Lending portion on the front of the contract, which outlines the financed amount, term, finance charges, etc. He informed [redacted] that he did not see anything misrepresented in the documents that were signed. The customer informed Mr. D[redacted] that she recently changed employers, and now has a new pay structure. As a result, he offered to modify her loan to change the repayment schedule. Mr. D[redacted] added that he could not adjust the financed amount, however. [redacted] declined the offer, saying she retained an attorney. Mr. D[redacted] requested the attorney’s information, but the customer refused and ended the call.[redacted], if I could be of further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me. Respectfully submitted, Sean M[redacted], Compliance Officer
