I am rejecting this response because: Help Across America took additional money to start working on a refi that was never handled They never got in touch with me after repeatly trying to reach them And because of the non-response and the delay of waiting for them I then had to pay additional money to the the second lender on the mortgage since they put a lien on my accounts as well as attorney fees As of today, I have not still not heard any news regarding the refinance that Help Across America was suppose to be working on You don't take someone's money and not follow up with any documentation or communication of their file The services paid for were completedThey completely dropped the ball on this

We apologize for the delay in answering this complaint.  It was sent to an email address that is sporadically monitored.  I am familiar with the file.  We represented both her and her husband in Queens County Court on two occasions at $1,500.00 each appearance.  We will...

be submitting our answer to this complaint which will show the many months and hundreds of hours of work.Thank you

On or about November of 2013, we were brought in to negotiate a modification on their mortgage.  After performing much due diligence we surmised that the problem was all about a second mortgage with [redacted] Mortgage and a Home Equity Line of Credit ([redacted]) with [redacted] that did not allow a successful disposition from their primary mortgage holder, W[redacted] whose mortgage was being serviced by [redacted] Company LLC.  We eventually were told by the primary mortgage holder that the issue was with [redacted] Mortgage's loan amounts and they themselves have been unsuccessful in negotiating with [redacted], therefore holding back any type of modification on the first mortgage.  We spent months negotiating with [redacted]'s attorneys spearheaded by Rob , their Collection Supervisor.  Where [redacted] and the [redacted]'s were unsuccessful, we were very successful in working a deal with [redacted].  It took many months and dozens of man hours but we were able to get [redacted] and [redacted] Mortgage to consolidate the two loans to be handled by one entity, Rob [redacted]'s group.  The problem with these large banks is they will only negotiate separately, where most of the time, you cannot secure a favorable disposition.  [redacted] and [redacted] Mortgage collectively ag[redacted] to consolidate the handling of the loans and we secured a very successful disposition. On August 20, 2014 [redacted] ag[redacted] to a $50,000.00 settlement and [redacted] Mortgage, a $25,000.00 settlement as shown in two settlement letters we have from [redacted] dated August 20, 2014 who represented both [redacted] and [redacted] Mortgage and with whom we dealt directly with.  Due to the time it took to negotiate with the two [redacted] lenders, Russ, the CEO of the firm, attended two hearings in Queens County Court, one of which was a very dangerous, winter day.  We charge $1,500.00 per hearing in the New York Boroughs.  Where both [redacted] and the [redacted]'s were unsuccessful for many months, we were successful in negotiating a favorable settlement with [redacted] and [redacted] Mortgage. The modification turned into negotiating a short pay situation which we were successful.  We spent over $12,000.00 on this file.  Because we felt compassion for the [redacted]'s, we never pursued the balance. To summarize, this started out as a modification for which we went through all the steps as we would with any file.  It then turned into a short pay transaction which is much more costly but we chose to maintain the status quo.  A short pay is where you short, or negotiate a lower settlement of the mortgages and stay in the house.  A modification is where you modify the loan(s) and stay in the house. A short sale is where you short the loans and purchase the house.  A short pay is something not many are successful at.  We have many clients come to us as in most cases, we are successful, as shown in this case.  The reason why I describe a short sale is because a short pay, which we performed, is under both the  modification and short sale guidelines, all within one transaction.Bottom Line:  We spent over a year working on this file at a cost much greater than what we received.  We were successful in our disposition and what we were brought in to do.  We have files upon files of documentation proving every word.Thank you

They completely dropped the ball on this.
