Our company provides only an educated guess on costs of moving based on the information the customer gives us over the
telephoneMr& Mrs*** were quoted a rough price of $900-$based on information they providedWe anticipated having to disassemble items that we normally have to, however, Mrs*** had several items that required disassembly and reassembly that we were unaware of until we arrivedAt their new residence many items had to go into their basement which involved walking around the side of the home down a slight slopeThis is what added timeWe charge customers strictly by the hour so accusations of misleading or over charging is untrue and impossible***, our lead supervisor was on the telephone at some point during the move because of an emergency, however, it was minimal time; no where near minutes and all other employees continued to workAny time employees or supervisors take breaks of any sort the customer is not charged! During disassembly of a multi-piece breakfast nook a non-cosmetic support piece under the center portion of the bench seating was brokenMrs*** was told at the time of the damage that *** (lead supervisor) could drop off the piece once it was repairedMrs*** declined and stated that her daughter could pick the item up and that her children could reassemble itWhen the repair was done the customer was contacted and at that time asked that we deliver it and reassemble the breakfast nookMrs*** was initially misinformed by the office that we would charge for delivery*** then called Mrs*** and explained that the office staff had misspoken and she would not be charged for delivery but would be charge for the time to reassemble the breakfast nook which would require peopleBeing that any disassembly or reassembly of furniture is included in the time customers pay for The *** would have paid for the time to reassemble the furniture if it had been done on the day of the moveWe explained multiple times that simple delivery of the piece would be free of chargeShe stated she still wanted us to reassemble the furniture after she was informed of what she would be charged for and whyThe amount she was charged was strictly the time it took to reassembleWe didn't charge any drive time to her home or mileageOur company was genuinely shocked at the complaintMr& Mrs*** were very pleasant and easy to work for on the day of their moved and seemed wholly satisfiedThey even tipped the moversWe hate to see any of our customers unhappy yet this complaint is uncalled for and unsubstantiatedAttached are the insurance forms, pre exsisting damage reports, and scheduling information from the job which proves the claims that we don't do paperwork are simply untruePaperwork also shows they called in on 12/31/and scheduled the move for 1/5/Claims that they wanted to be moved in December and it didn't happen until January are equally untrueThe $owed for reassembly of the breakfast nook is valid
