Bad customer service (husband was cursed at by the phone operator) and unfair fees.
The tire rod on my husband's truck broke Saturday night as he was trying to make a left hand turn out of a neighborhood onto another street. He ended up stopping just before the ditch on the side. Because the end of his truck was partially sticking out into a lane of traffic the police were called and they towed the truck to a nearby parking lot. From there, we need it towed to our mechanic's shop so we called our roadside assistance. They connected us with Hemphill. The charge ended up being $104 on top of the $100 our insurance covers, so $204 to go 19 miles!!! When my husband questioned the fees, he was cursed at by their phone operator. Then another guy (I think it was the driver when he arrived) explained to my husband the charge an extra fee if the vehicle is undriveable! If the truck was driveable, we wouldn't have needed them! We could have driven it to the shop ourselves! Again, horrible customer services and outrages fees. We definitely feel taken advantage of.

The link to provider further information before a response is not allowing me to attach photos or a copy of the invoice. I would like to provide photos of the state of the damaged vehicle when my driver arrived, and provide a copy of the invoice detailing the fees charged due to the damage to the vehicle. As a gesture of goodwill, we are prepared to refund the $104, in response to the rude way with which our dispatcher may have spoken to this customer. However, we stand firm behind our rates we charge for the services provided, as they are communicated with the customer before we begin any work, and at any point the customer could have refused service and attempted to seek out another service provider. The customer even tipped our driver for his work and professionalism. Please let me know how I can send the documentation over, and our official statement will follow.

The $104 refund is an acceptable resolution and is greatly appreciated. And, yes, my husband did tip the driver for his service. My husband's a fair man and isn't going to stiff the driver for the company's fees (which I'm sure the driver doesn't set) or the rude customer service by the phone rep. He tipped the driver based on the service he alone provided. Most other people wouldn't have been so nice.
