leaving on vacation so it might not be until after Memorial weekend before I would be able to make it over there. Which I can now see must have not been quick enough for her. As far as the deck posts go I already looked at them and talked to her last summer about them. Which I then told her the cracks were just cosmetic and not affecting the structural integrity of the deck in no way. I have no idea why the inspector would now be saying all the post should be replace after they had already passed the final inspection for the deck.

On May 18th after we filed with the Revdex.com [redacted] had a worker come out and look at our deck. I was not home and did not talk to him in person, but I did talk to him on the phone on May 17th to tell him what our concerns were. Since that time we have not heard from Hendrickson Remodeling. I feel as if the response is vague so I would like to clear up what they agree to fix and when. The fascia, the crack in the bottom part of the railing and the posts that have excessive cracking. If it is needed I'm sure I can call the City of Andover and have the inspector I spoke with late last summer write his comments. The inspector did say that they should have done the posts in cedar due to the direct sun on the deck. If this needs to be done, we are willing to pay whatever extra it would be between the green treated and cedar. The inspector did also say that if [redacted] did not think that the posts needed to be redone than he should give us a written warranty on the posts. Also there is a warranty on the maintenance free decking, but we never received the warranty. I don't know if it is customary for the owner to hold the warranty or the builder.

On June 1st my crew and I went to [redacted] residence. We replaced the three 6"x6"-9' pressure treated deck support posts that had the excessive cracking. We disassembled the complete railing section that had the cracked bottom rail. Removed all the spindle buttons and installed them on a new bottom rail and reassembled the 8' railing section. Even though we originally installed the skirt boards to manufacturers instructions and still had bowing issues. We went thru all the skirt board checking and adding screws where the bowing was occurring. Also in addition to that I still have one of the guys going over there to check on the repairs. All these repairs have been made with no compensation to Hendricks Remodeling Inc. from any suppliers or manufacturers. Finally I will mail copies of all the warranties to the consumer.
