Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 5, 2015/05/20) */ On April 30, I was contacted by [redacted] about the issues they are having with the deck we built them a year and half agoI told her that I would come look at there issues and fix them, but right now I was really busy and also leaving on vacation so it might not be until after Memorial weekend before I would be able to make it over thereWhich I can now see must have not been quick enough for herAs far as the deck posts go I already looked at them and talked to her last summer about themWhich I then told her the cracks were just cosmetic and not affecting the structural integrity of the deck in no wayI have no idea why the inspector would now be saying all the post should be replace after they had already passed the final inspection for the deck Initial Consumer Rebuttal / [redacted] (3000, 7, 2015/05/28) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) On May 18th after we filed with the Revdex.com [redacted] had a worker come out and look at our deckI was not home and did not talk to him in person, but I did talk to him on the phone on May 17th to tell him what our concerns wereSince that time we have not heard from Hendrickson RemodelingI feel as if the response is vague so I would like to clear up what they agree to fix and whenThe fascia, the crack in the bottom part of the railing and the posts that have excessive crackingIf it is needed I'm sure I can call the City of Andover and have the inspector I spoke with late last summer write his commentsThe inspector did say that they should have done the posts in cedar due to the direct sun on the deckIf this needs to be done, we are willing to pay whatever extra it would be between the green treated and cedarThe inspector did also say that if [redacted] did not think that the posts needed to be redone than he should give us a written warranty on the postsAlso there is a warranty on the maintenance free decking, but we never received the warrantyI don't know if it is customary for the owner to hold the warranty or the builder Final Business Response / [redacted] (4000, 12, 2015/06/17) */ On June 1st my crew and I went to [redacted] residenceWe replaced the three 6"x6"-9' pressure treated deck support posts that had the excessive crackingWe disassembled the complete railing section that had the cracked bottom railRemoved all the spindle buttons and installed them on a new bottom rail and reassembled the 8' railing sectionEven though we originally installed the skirt boards to manufacturers instructions and still had bowing issuesWe went thru all the skirt board checking and adding screws where the bowing was occurringAlso in addition to that I still have one of the guys going over there to check on the repairsAll these repairs have been made with no compensation to Hendricks Remodeling Incfrom any suppliers or manufacturersFinally I will mail copies of all the warranties to the consumer Final Consumer Response / [redacted] (2000, 14, 2015/06/22) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
