She brought it here with her own diagnosis to put an alternator in.  She brought her own alternator in and we installed it.  The first time we installed her own was in 09/2014.  Since she brought her own, we cannot warranty it.  In 11/2015, we replaced her alternator again, with...

another one she provided.  On 06/01/2016, she came in since she was getting tired of spending the $100 because her alternator kept going bad, so we would put our own in (with a 2-year 24k mile warranty) which she agreed to.  It was charging at 11.5v and when we replaced it, it charged at 13.5-14v.  She came back saying her check engine light was still on, and that we didn’t fix anything, though we did what was needed and requested.  Her engine light was on because she needed spark plugs, but she did not want to replace them.  The check engine light had nothing to do with the alternator.

In January 2015 [redacted] brought his vehicle to us as it had a leaking water pump. This job takes 10 hours to perform according to alldata, a...

leading estimating software company. We informed [redacted] that with the mileage on the vehicle it is advisable to change the timing chain and thermostat at this time as there would be no additional labor. On april [redacted] brought the vehicle back in as there was a very small antifreeze leak. The leak was coming from the water pump gasket. We replaced the water pump along with the gasket again at our cost. In June [redacted] brought the vehicle back again and again there was a leak at the water pump gasket. This time we called the Chrysler dealer and had them send us out a new water pump and gasket. The gasket was re-designed at this point as the manufacture was having trouble with the original design. AT NO POINT were we EVER using the wrong part. Again we replaced the part at our cost which is about 900.00 in billable labor just to make the customer happy. We explained everything we were doing to [redacted] and he was happy and understood what we were going thru and thanked us for what we did for him. In September [redacted] brought the car in complaining that is was overheating. At no other time did he ever have an overheating problem. We checked the water pump straightaway and it was not leaking. In fact [redacted] never had an overheating problem with the other waterpumps we put on just a leaking gasket. We performed a couple of more tests and when we did a engine block test we determined that the cylinder head gaskets had been compromised. This is a very different problem than the one he was having before and is in no way anything that we have any control over as we never has these parts off or taken loose at all. He stated in his letter that Chrysler sent out a redesign notice in 2006. Auto Repair never get these things mailed out as if we did we would get 50 of them a day for all the different changes that the manufactures make on parts on a daily basis. We are in no way liable for these damages as it was 3 months after the last repair and when he brought the vehicle in there were no leaks at all in the water pump area. Thank You and if you would like to discuss this further please call me.

The consumer had a small leak that was sent back to the transmission shop. It also had a leak in the transfer case.
To our knowledge when the consumer left he was satisfied. We called and to make sure everything was OK and left a voice...

mail.
Final Consumer Response /* (2000, 14, 2015/06/16) */
The business resolved my complaint and I am very happy.
