I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Completely false. I have all the receipts from Heppe's and the current company who set things straight. Thank you for your time. So I still firmly believe in refund as noted in first letter from me of $555.21. Also just for clarification I was with my father the first time so not only was it my money put into the services but my fathers which I had to pay him back on and have done successfully. Unfortunately I'm not able to scan copies if receipts to you for attachments but I can send them through the postal mail. To Whom it may concern,This will be my final correspondence.I don't know where lies and deceit come from.Given the circumstances regarding her car, I think we treated her fair.We diagnosed the cranks but no start in August, estimated and was authorized for a fuel pump replacement.I did acknowledge stalling when it was picked up. Could not test anymore that day for this stalling problemas it was after 5pm. Would have been able to test next day but car was needed. Did not hear of continuedstalling even when we serviced it for a no-crank /no-start situation in October. In October we diagnosed the problem as a seized a/c pulley and poor battery. Estimated and was authorized to install a/c by-pass pulley. After repair car ran and road test did not reveal any stalling. As I stated previously I had no communicationof drivability problems after first repair to last repair approximately 1200 miles. This was a vehicle with176,000 miles on it, am I now responsible for all problems ? We were willing to test for stalling after first repairbut she needed her car, and I did not hear from her until October. Wouldn't you call back if you had this problemfrom August to October , especially after 1200 miles. I do not know what she had repaired during this time, I have not seen the invoices.Thank You,[redacted]

Really I need to really say no more than $836.47 rightfully owed back to me and I'd like the check mailed to my home address please and thank you. Good day.Revdex.com:

To whom it may concern,We did replace the fuel pump on Ms. [redacted]s car on 8/29 2014. Was able to save cost by not having to do the fuel pump sending unit.Yes ,I did road test the car and towards the end of road test it did seem to want to stall at stops. This condition is common with the IAC...

valveafter battery power has been interrupted. I disconnected battery to service the fuel pump. As it was towards the end of the day I advised her to driveit and usually the IAC will relearn itself. If not I would need it back for further testing. This was the first time I had seen the vehicle, it was towed in by her father and I had no information on how it ran.She did question me about it may be a bad pump, I responded "when it stalls does it restart?". Yes it would, therefore the fuel pump is goo dand there may other issues to address. As money was an issue I did not do further testing as I had the car running.Did not hear from Ms [redacted] until 2 months later 10/16 2014. Her car was towed in and it would not crank over as it did previously when the fuel pump was bad. After charging he battery  and finding it to be in poor condition, we tried to start- just one hard click.tried to move crankshaft to see if engine was problem, crankshaft would not turn. Removed serpentine drive belt and engine turned over and started.Found the air conditioning pulley seized up, cost was too expensive to replace compressor customer declined. Recommended compressor elimination pulleywhich is what was authorized and replaced. After repairs road tested vehicle and ran fine.  Have not heard from Ms [redacted] since October repair.I will not refund any money as the services were provided for 2 separate repairs with 2 different conditions.I am sorry she feels slighted.I apologize for the delayed response as we have moved our shop west 9 blocks. [redacted]Heppe's Service

Review: I was charged on a car battery totaling to $218.15 from Heppe's on 5/14/14. After hearing from my friends that I was scammed, I looked up the battery model and found it was only $65. When I called back that same day they claimed they add about 30% to all their products. (which would have been around $20 not 100). They proceeded to tell me that the remaining charges were for installation and tests they run.

5/28/14 I went to two different mechanic shops who told me I was ripped off and should be able to get a full refund and they should have my battery since it had only been 2 weeks. They informed me that I shouldn't have paid more than $100 plus tax including testing battery, a replacement battery, and installation.

I called Heppes on 5/28/14 to ask about returning the battery and was told over the phone that there was some $35 usage fee. When I asked for more details on what the charge was I was told to just stop in and they'll refund it. Immediately after hanging up, I receive a phone call that says may battery was sent back already so I should have a replacement battery.

That day, I purchased a new battery from a different shop and had it installed all for a total of $115.

I returned the Heppe's battery on 5/29/14 and was refunded $173.82. The merchant then told me he would not refund $45 that was for "testing", claiming that they tested the battery, transmission, cables, etc. He tried to compare it to testing done at a doctors office. I am in the medical field and once the problem is found, all other procedures are unnecessary. Might I add that I do not have any documentation that they ran other tests. My receipt strictly says "battery test", as far as I am concerned, they did not run any other tests.

6/2/14 My car does not start. I take it to get checked at the place I purchased the $115 battery. After testing (might I add, for free), they find that my alternator needs replacement.

I feel Heppe's overcharged me on the sole basis that I am a woman and that they are charging for tests that are not done. If they were performing the tests they claim they are, they would have found that my alternator was the source of the problem and not the battery. I feel they will continue to overcharge and charge for unperformed tests to naive women. I strongly believe that a man would have NOT had the same outcome.Desired Settlement: I purchased a new battery that most likely did not need to be replaced because Heppe's unethically charged me for services they did not provide. I would like the remaining refund for "tests" that were not performed as well as my old battery. If the old battery cannot be recovered then I would like the cost of the $115 battery + $10 core charge that I was forced to purchase as a result.

To Whom it may concern,

On 5/14/2014 Ms. [redacted] brought her vehicle to us and stated she had an intermittent starting problem.

We tested the vehicle's starting system - starter/alternator/battery and battery cables. At that time we found

the battery was testing poor. The alternator and the starter tested good, and the cables looked clean and

secure. We called Ms [redacted] and quoted an estimate of $218.15 , for replacement battery /install & testing.

Ms. [redacted] gave us the authorization to proceed with the repair. It seemed after the repair was completed

and vehicle was picked up Ms [redacted] did some shopping and found a cheaper battery with no testing

or installation fees from elsewhere.

After several phone calls She was directed to see me. When she arrived she wanted a full refund because she

felt we took advantage of her. I had asked if we had called with an estimate and she said yes. I asked if she

authorized the repair and she said yes. I stated I would be happy to refund the price of the battery, but not the

testing as we had to find out why there was an intermittent starting problem. I refunded the price of the battery

and sales tax. $173.82. Our conversation continued and I asked if you went to the doctor because you didn't

feel well do they not charge for running tests when they treat you ? I stated I would be doing a disservice If we

had not tested the system for an intermittent problem and only tested a battery . Several other components

affect the starting system. Our labor guides call for .7 of hour for battery test and install, we charged .4 hour and

no additional for system test. To finish our conversation I stated that if she thought the price was too high she

could have declined repair or called back later after she had done her price checking. She authorized the repair

when we called her. We sell quality parts , sure there are less expensive products available. She stated her new

replacement battery was $125.00.

I apologized for the inconvenience refunded the price of the battery but not the testing.

This is the first I have heard of an alternator issue, when vehicle left our facility the system was charging at

14 volts and no indicator lights were on.

Thank You,

Review: I went to Heppe's on 8/29/2014 for auto repairs since car wouldn't start. Paid $450.58 total for service which broke down cost on invoice was $260.86 labor, $158.00 parts, $7.83 shop supplies, and $23.89 in sales tax. When the business called to come pick up my 1996 Chevrolet Lumina 3.4L 207 cid v6 dohc I went to pick it up and paid the owner of the shop, but then went I started car to leave parking lot I couldn't make it out parking lot due to it being extra loud and shutting off. When questioning him about this and him even seeing it he told me, " Two feet drive it since the shop closes at 5pm we didn't have time to even test drive it, you'll have to come back another day for further service." So I did as he said and once I dot more money together the car was towed in by my insurance company on 10/16/2014 for non start again since it never ran right the first time from getting it from him. This time I was charged $294.35 labor, $62.25 parts, $8.83 shop supplies, and $20.46 in sales tax total $385.89 and the car still dies and doesn't stay running. They were paid once again and don't give a damn on how they do bad business.Desired Settlement: All labor cost should be refunded to me of $555.21 it only seems some what fair.
