Herb Chambers Ford of Braintree Reviews (6)

Mr [redacted] is correct we installed a new driveshaft in his car improperly and paid for the tow, replacement of the new driveshaft and we reimbursed him 100% of what he had originally paid for the repair. There was not excessive haggling at all with me, no negotiation at all, why would we expect him to pay for any of the replacement as it was our fault and I reimbursed Mr[redacted] the $he was originally responsible for as a gesture of good will and as an apology for his inconvenience. The driveshaft issue with his car was handled internally and I see no reason to discuss how we handle employees or any internal working and no deceptive advice was given to Mr***.Mr***s car is an years old and has 90,miles , not uncommon for a car like this to need many things and we would have many recommendationsNo warranty would be available on a car of this age with that many miles for future unsubstantiated or potential repairs, of course we will warranty the work we performed *** [redacted] ***General ManagerHerb Chambers Ford [redacted]

Mr [redacted] has a Ford [redacted] with 104,miles, his car had a Ford recall for the replacement of the torque converter.after completing the recall the car developed an exhaust leak Ford authorized and paid for the replacement of the rotted and leaking exhaust flex pipe and Ford authorized the replacement of worn out and rotted pigtail for the starter motor.Ford also authorized an outside muffler shop to weld the exhaust manifold. All of these operations had been authorized because they were in the area of the torque converter, although they were all pre pre existing due to the age and mileage of this car.the torque converter is attached to the transmission and the customer tells us the transmission fluid leak is new and started after the torque converter was installed , again due to the age and miles on this car disturbing anything is likely to cause leaks. What we told Mr [redacted] and what was written on his repair order given to him the last time he was here is exactly this:The transmission leak can not be properly diagnosed without the removal of the transmissionOnce diagnosis is made, Ford may cover the entire repair as related damage to the recently completed recall. If diagnosis is made and Ford denies the coverage then the customer will be responsible for removal and reinstall of the transmissionThe concern Ford has is that if it is as an example a front transmission pump that had nothing to do with the installation of the torque converter why should they pay for the repair, certainly why would Herb Chambers be responsible anything. We were just completing the Ford recall, if we caused any damage due to the nature of the recall and age and miles on this car I think Ford has shown they have been more than fair and paid for everything so far, they just don't want pay for something unrelated and to be sure the transmission needs to be removedI understand Mr***'s concern but I do not think either Ford and especially Herb Chambers Ford is being unreasonableIf I can be of any assistance please reach out to me directly [redacted] ***General Manager

I am responding to your response thank you .I know for sure that my car was not leaking transmission fluid when I dropped the car off so it has to be Herb chambers ford who caused the leak. And the reason that ford replaced my exhaust and starter pigtail is because they broke it my cars exhaust was fine before I brought it in for repair and miles is not alot on a car anywayI AM NOT LOOKING FOR ANYTHING FOR FREE FROM FORD I COULD PROBABLY FIX THE CAR BETTER THAN YOUR WHOLE SHOP I JUST EXPECT MY CAR RETURNED TO ME THE WAY I BROUGHT IT IN .THE EXHAUST WAS NOT BROKE FACT AND THE TRANSMISSION WAS NOT LEAKING FLUID ON THE GROUND FACT SO WHO DID IT?

Herb Chambers *** did install a used rear differential in Ms***'s 198,mile *** on February 25th 2014The differential was disclosed as being used and it was the only choice at the time as *** does not offer a differential kit as new , every part would have had to be ordered and
assembled and then installed, it would not have been cost efficient to do this on a year old 200,mile car.now months later and almost 51,miles driven the differential again needs repair, when Ms*** called our service advisor he assumed it was a new part replaced that would have been a two year warranty.Ms *** brought the vehicle to us and after evaluation and reviewing the last repair it had run out of warranty months earlier.after Ms*** declined the repair we had the vehicle towed back to her home at no charge to her.We did not lie or cheat Ms***, she was aware it was a used part, the warranty was for one year and expired months ago, and no additional warranty was implied or offered as no additional warranty would have been available. The car unfortunately needs a similar repair again but it also was driven again almost 51,miles over the last months. This car needed over $in additional repairs in February of and they were declined by Ms***.We tried to fix the last time the most cost effective way due to the age and mileage of this car.*** ***General Manager
