Herberger's

I frequently shopped at the Herbergers in Great Falls, MT. But I recently went in to exchange a cosmetic item (never used in original unopened package) for which I no longer had the plastic bag or the receipt. STORE RETURN POLICY CLEARLY STATES THEY ACCEPT RETURNS WITHOUT A RECEIPT. I walked into the store holding the item in my hand, which had they checked their store cameras it would clearly show. While making my wat to cosmetics I stopped at the jewelry/watch counter and kindly asked for a bag, there was an elderly woman with short white hair and glasses helping other customers so I waited. She pulled out the bag and came over to me and asked why I needed the bag, I told her I had lost the other bag since I had purchased the item a little under a month ago. To my surprise she reaches out and snatches the item from out of my hand and says she needs to scan it, but does not, instead she begins grilling me about why I wanted the bag. When I told her never mind, just give me back my item she refused and went and got a manager (just as low-down miserable as she) and without even acknowledging me she proceeded to tell on me for asking for the bag and completely made it seem like I had stolen the item, without the slightest bit of proof. The manager said I couldn't have the bag either and that I should just take the item as is straight to the cosmetic department. Well this old hag and trust me I mean hag in the nicest way possible still refused to give me MY item back and walked it over to the make-up counter herself and proceeded to also tell on me with the cosmetics lady, luckily this lady turned out to be a decent human being and happily gave me store credit and offered to call me when the item I wanted to exchange it for came in. I was in such shock at the awful way in which I was treated that I had no time to react, but honestly I should have made a huge scene and told that old miserable hag to go to hell! Anyway when I got home I called the store to complain and ended up speaking to the same miserable manager I had dealt with while in the store. Needless to say she was rude on the phone and only made excuses for the old hag. I will certainly not be shopping there again ever!!! They have some of the worst miserable people working there.
