Erik did a thorough job cleaning out my house, garage and shed. He took everything, decided it wasn't worth much, and charged me $580 - was supposed to be $400 if he could not make money but he added $180 for shotgun he was shown, by real estate agent but not by me). He gave most to Roberto who kind of threw things onto his own truck to do whatever, supposedly to take to Goodwill. I felt Erik wasn't interested in much but two twin beds with clean, very good mattresses, a reclining wall hugger chair clean and still in style, an old buffet 1929 vintage, a Craftsman snow thrower about 4 years old, a new Toro electric snow thrower,,pressure washer, 5000W gas generator used for only 6 hours, a new Chamberlein garage door opener, 2 fornica kitchen tables, a Whirlpool older model energy efficient refrigerator in excellent working condition, 2 older model radios, should have easily netted him over $1,000, the Craftsman snow thrower alone should have netted at least $300. The various items he gave to Roberto I could have donated to The Salvation Army or Purple Heart and received monies off my taxes. Also, Roberta broke a glass shelf from the refrigerator and my friend happened to see it and was able to clean it out of my driveway and yard.
If you want to be cleaned out entirely, just pay someone to do it after you hold your own estate or rummage sale - I felt I was ripped off (screwed and not even kissed was a term I heard used) and would never do this again nor recommend to someone else.
We did indeed clean out this property - an entire house, shed and garage. It took 6 people an entire day and 1 truck to the dump and 1 truck to good will. Yes, we only kept a very small amount of items because those were the only items worth anything AND the only thing of considerable value was a vintage Remington Shotgun that you gave to the neighbor. Yes, the real estate agent gave me a tour of the house and clearly told me she was working on your behalf and clearly told me that the gun was included in the estate. This clean out cost for the estate was around $1,800. The items we took from the home helped reduce that cost down to $580. That is the way this process works and it was clearly described before we started. And you had the option to let us simply pick through the estate and get cash for those items or use that value to help get the house cleaned out in entirely. Roberto recycles every piece of metal we have and saves it from ending up in the landfill. If you did not want him or us to do that you only had to ask. Your friend who was there at the house gave us clear instructions to get rid of the very old refrigerator because it was too outdated and no one would be interested and I agreed. I apologize for the problems you had with the service but it was clearly outlined to the real estate agent and you agreed. You should have voiced your concerns before we started or during the process - you were present the entire time.
We didn't have enough expensive items to make it worth anyone's while to do the Estate Sale for us as we had asked several Estate Sale companies and they all said so. Even so, Eric was incredible and stood out above the rest! His communication skills and follow-up were superb. Even though we didn't have enough expensive items for him to do the job, he gave us advice for us to handle the sale ourselves. He even came out a second time to do so without a single thing to gain on his part! He was spot on with all he told us too! Impressive! What a good man of integrity! I would recommend him above anyone! The world needs more people like Eric in it! Thank you, Eric, for helping us!
