At the time of a loved ones death you expect certain professionalisms to be observed. This was not the case for my family. First of all when I called to check on the protocal of the funeral home in the case of a home death, Dale assumed I was another funeral home and asked " oh are yall getting this one?" When my family went to finalize my fathers pre arrangments we clearly explained we were not from that town and that my father chose this place because of their mototrcycle herse. In the course of the next four days the ball was continually dropped, always to be blamed on "the girl" working in the office. The obituary was not put in our hometown paper before the funeral, cremation papers were not signed while we were all there resulting in much stress on the familiy's part to make this happen from out of town, the memory cards were printed incorrectly and had to be redone minutes before the service, the video was not playing- because as he said "oh we just forgot to turn it on", the tablecloth covering the table my father's ashes were placed on was beyond wrinkled and the carpet near the alter had visible debris around it. But the biggest complaint was the fact that my father choses this place for one final motorcycle ride, and was denied that. Let me state that I nor anyone in my family would want someone to get hurt transporting him the cemetery, however the skies were bright and shinyand the pavement at that time was not even wet from the previous rain, and the radar showed no rain for hours in the area! We were told no they were using a herse and would see about reimboursing us the difference. The money was not the issue! Incompetence and unprofessionalism was the point! It was a Saturday service and no one wanted to drive is my opinion. In conclusionwe were beyond disappointed with my fathers funeral from start to finish, Unfortunately there are no do-overs in the funeral business...once its done its done!
