Review: Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to complain about the additional charge by the Best Western Plus Heritage Inn. After we checked in the hotel on 8/24/13, my husband tried to brew coffee. The coffee maker was placed on top of the microwave oven when we entered the room. My husband tried to remove the coffee filter compartment and the coffee maker slid from the top of the microwave oven. The coffee glass pot dropped and cracked. My husband notified the front desk immediately but we were told that the hotel is going to charge $20 for the breakage. On 8/25 when we checked out from the hotel, there was a replacement charge (MISC CHARGE) of the coffee pot for $20 on the bill. I acknowledged to pay and signed the checked out bill. (I have my check out receipt to prove it). The hotel clerk confirmed that the total cost to replace the coffee maker is $20 and cannot just replace the glass pot. After we arrived home, I have called several times to contact the manager of the hotel but he was never available to return my calls. I have also sent an email to the Best Western Inn website on 8/29/13 to suggest the coffee pot placement. On 9/9/13 my credit card statement indicate a charge $50 in addition to the $20 which was agreed upon checked out on 8/24/13. I called the hotel right away and was told that the total cost to replace the coffee maker is $70. The manager posted the additional $50 without my agreement, and I am demanding a refund of $50 ASAP and stop the predatory business practice at once. Yours Truly,[redacted]
