Heritage roofing did a roof replacement in October of 2015 on a property that we manage. In November 12th of 2019 I received a call from the tenant letting me know that there was water coming through the ceiling and dripping onto a bed in one of the bedrooms. I sent a technician out to assess the issue and it had been found that the roof installation was done poorly which was causing the issue. I asked the attending technician to please take video of the issues and forward them over to me. I reviewed the contract and confirmed a 12 year warranty for workmanship and 35 years for materials.
I Immediately reached out to *** however he was on vacation and was unable to send anyone or attend the residence until he returned from vacation. I sent my technician back to temporarily stop the leak which we did have to pay for. I reached out to *** a few times following my initial call to ask when he would visiting the property to inspect the roof Finally, on December 17th I received an email stating that the issue was from ice damning and that the staining in the attic was old.
The video I received from my technician shows a vent hole covered over by shingles, the bathroom fan was vented into the attic area and not outside as well as a poor decking repair beside the phoenix vent and sagging shingles. I sent the video to *** and the response I received was "The roof is not leaking!! And will not leak. The roof is in good condition! We are not processing"
The owner of the property we manage reached out to *** to ask about having the roof repaired to which he also denied any issues.
# 1 the roof was checked by management co after being completed.
# 2 All vents on roof were replaced with the same! , this is how we were told to quote job and to give the cheapest price as you can. ( the vents will not be changed)
#3 management would only replace this roof if they were curled so baddy that they started to leak, THAT is the reason for the old stains.
#4 does this tec have a roofing license or certified inspector ?
#5 how did this tec stop the roof from leaking?
#6 I need to see a video of the inside and on the roof areas, you mentioned you sent.

# 1 the roof was checked by management co after being completed.
REPLY - I was not with *** when this work was ordered, I do not have a certificate of completion or any other documentation other than the invoice
# 2 All vents on roof were replaced with the same! , this is how we were told to quote job and to give the cheapest price as you can. ( the vents will not be changed)
REPLY - Original work order uploaded, we do not ask for the "cheapest price possible". The video clearly shows the vent hole covered over by shingles...

REPLY - The tenant had water dripping onto their bed and the video clearly shows damp areas in the attic. This is not old staining

REPLY - The technician is a HAAG certified roofing inspector

REPLY - This video was sent to you on December 31st to which you replied "The roof is not leaking!! And will not leak. The roof is in good condition! We are not processing" In short, you did not even bother to review the video, you simply just denied honoring your warranty???

you have voided your warranty, you had your tec repair the roof, he should have told you by any type of repair done
on another company's roof would void the warranty.
all companies know this.
I called you several times and left message.
you should have looked up who did the roof, instead of sending your tec to repair it.
next time you have to do your home work.
by the way you never sent the video on inside and out.
what you sent doesn't concern the leaking!

I am rejecting this response because: We HAD to send a technician to stop the leak because you were in *** and would not send someone to assess the roof. In the best interest of my owner, my tenant AND the property itself. I can not leave a roof leaking onto a bed while you vacation. I reached out to you before I sent my technician.
Sounds like you will say pretty much anything to get out of honoring your warranty. Yikes....

Heritage replaced my shingles in Nov 2015. Because of the hail in Calgary in Aug 2018, I had to replace the shingles again. My contracting company found warped plywood under the previous shingles. They also found old vent holes that were covered with paper and not plywood. Pictures were provided. I was disappointed to discover this. When I contacted Heritage, the reply was 'If we did this, I'm sorry'.

I sent an email to Heritage Feb 7, 2019 about this. I rec'd a reply from Brett *** saying he would get back to me when he is back at the end of the week. I sent a reminder Feb 22 to say I hadn't heard anymore from him. He responded with the comment 'if we did that I'm sorry. Hopefully there is no more hail storms and I won't need shingles a third time for quite some time. (I have the emails)
