Mr. [redacted] , doing his own independent research, found a custom racing engine builder. Mr. [redacted] contracted directly with that 3rd party to build a custom 500 HP racing engine (from the ground up) for his car. Mr. [redacted] paid that 3rd party for that engine, he did not pay Acton. Acton's role was to install his new, custom, one-off, modified engine into his 27 year old original car. Not surprisingly, the engine that Mr. [redacted] bought and had delivered to Acton, did not fit his car. We had to modify the engine and the car to integrate them. Once installed, the engine (which Acton did not supply) did not run properly. We have been in contact with the other location to which Mr. [redacted] took his car to perfect its performance, after Acton's installation. That location commented positively to us about the skill we demonstrated in making the engine fit the car. They also remarked that the engine was probably "too much" for the car, and they agreed that the builder had designed Mr. [redacted] 's engine for serious racing, not for normal operation. In short. it would appear that Mr. [redacted] is revising the historical path that he followed in pursuing a custom high performance car. Reiterating, Mr. [redacted] never expressed his dissatisfaction directly to Acton and seems to be attempting to evade his commitments to pay for the custom specialty work that he authorized. Contrary to his odd comments, we have been doing this kind of work for 25 years. We have hundreds of antique and special interest car customers who are delighted with our unique emphasis. We stand behind our work and would appreciate the opportunity to assist Mr. [redacted] if he is having ongoing concerns. We have attempted to contact him and he has not responded to us except through this medium.

Mr*** has a *** that he has been interested in restoring and modifying to his unique specifications and expectationsMr***'s car had sustained an engine failure last year, diagnosed by ActonActon recommended numerous stock OEM and traditional aftermarket replacement engine
solutions and quoted the cost for that form of workHowever, on his own Mr*** contracted separately with a 3rd party, a custom racing engine builder, to create a new high performance engine for his ***That engine was delivered to Acton's facility for installation. Acton Chrysler performs restorative mechanical service work on antique and specialty interest vehiclesAs such, we agreed to undertake the labor to install this customized new racing engine into his year old vehicle, and advised Mr*** that extensive modifications to the vehicle would be required to adapt the modern HP engine he purchased into his standard production carMr*** also asked us to paint his engine bay and acknowledged that he was responsible for the initial diagnosis on his original engine. This is 100% customized work, for which no published times are available and for which estimates are very difficultMany of our antique vehicle restoration projects exceed $30,This engine changeover required extensive adaptation to its fuel system, mounts, cooling, electrical and vacuum systemsMr*** was advised (and acknowledged) that he understood that he had purchased a unique power train from a 3rd party, not from Acton, and that this was not an engine replacement that would be possible to do in the time quoted by Acton for a engine changeover Once installed and running in the car, new concerns developed with the new engine Mr*** had sourced and had constructed for him by a 3rd partyIt is a highly sensitive, internally balanced racing engine and when combined with its original flywheel, it exhibited some vibrations as well as other drive-ability symptomsActon completed its mission to install the engine and get it running, but its performance, funciton and design were not our responsibility. Attached is an email string where Mr*** acknowledges his responsibility to pay Acton for his outstanding chargesActon gave Mr *** the courtesy of removing his car to send it to another facility for electronic refinements and upgrades to its PCMWe assumed that Mr*** would honor his commitments to pay us, as per his stated, written intentionsWe are disappointed that he would turn to the Revdex.com as some form of an "excuse shield" with which to attempt to evade his obligationsIt is worth noting that Mr*** has turned to the Revdex.com for relief without ever giving Acton any notice whatsoever, of his concernsWe expect to be paid in full, as per his agreement, for the work he contracted us to perform

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # [redacted]. Please add your rejection comments below.
I was taken advantage of. There were many issues with the vehicle that were not addressed properly during the installation of my new motor I purchased. I took my car back from acton because I was displeased also to get the engine tuned to make sure gas air ratio and timing were proper for the engine not to seize, acton does not tune. When the car was taken to the professional, who only works on [redacted]s, which I found by doing heavy forum searching. I showed them my paper work on pricing from acton, they showed me comparable jobs on paper and were about half the cost. With all tasks necessary to be installed and running 100%, I was nieve to believe what acton was saying was true. They are not masters of their trade, nor do they speacilize in a specific antique make/model. Acton installed the engine and a few other components to a motor to have it only start and die. I brought it to the tune shop and I told them I was told all I need is a tune for the car to run and drive. The shop said ok we will take a look, they found multiple issues with the installation of the motor, radiator, radiator fans, altinator, fuel system and how the water pump was installed as well. I had an issue with acton prior to this job, they installed an exhaust on the same vehicle, which fell off 3 days after they put it on, I have pictures and email exchanges from that time as well. To add to my dissatisfaction I also have an email from a gentleman who is also displeased with acton as well on how they handled his motor install and running results.
