I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ***, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
What is untrue- you came and brought out an old opened fuse from your truck and screwed it in and charged me $It then exploded in minutesWHAT IS UNTRUE?I can attach the recepts from my local hardware store that sells fuses in a box for $which I have been purchasing for years living hereWHAT IS UNTRUE? The facts are clearYou wanted to swindle meFor minutes of your time you screwed in an old opened fuse that you found in your truck and charged me $I did not call you to do that because even my child who was there as a witness is capable of screwing the fuses in! The reason an electrician was needed was to CHANGE or FIX or UPDATE the BOX.again please explain WHAT IS UNTRUE? Mrs R***, my neighbor was also present and when you left she said- wow I can't believe he charged you for that! You brought some man in with you who barged into my apt without even an introductionWas he a witness? Who is he? What is his association to you and why was he brought in uninvited to my apt? You are incredibly unprofessionalShame on you!

After two letters from the customer telling a story that is completely untrue I am getting a little tired of this. To stop all this nonsense all we need to do is ask the two other people that were right there when all of this happened. That will give a real picture of what happened not what some frustrated person is fabricating right now. My family has been doing electrical work in the New York area for over 80 years and thousands of satisfied customers. I hope this puts an end to this. Thank You Thomas B[redacted] (third generation licensed electrical contractor.)

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

All statements made by electrician are false. 1. The electrician writes: We were called to repair lights out in half the apartment.I never called him to repair the lights. I called him to replace the old fuse box. My current fuse box is located in my hallway and it has threaded sockets into which the fuses are screwed in. For the last 10 years, I have replaced the old socket fuses from my local drugstore which charges $5 for a box of 4 fuses. It easily screws in and lasts about a few months, then it blows if too much electricity is used. After doing this routine for the last 10 years, I realized its time to get an updated fuse box that does not have the old Edison screw type fuses. I called this electrician to come and replace the box.  When he walked in I was holding the old fuse and he said he would replace it with a new one. I was a bit confused because I explained that I can get new fuses from my drugstore and am very capable of screwing in a fuse which I have done for 10 years but I am sick and tired of doing this same routine and therefore need a new fuse box. He went to his truck and brought in a worn out fuse and screwed it in. I said what? will you please replace the fuse box? He said he would give me an estimate but told me I owe him $115 - I said what? He said 115! I got very nervous by his demeanor and told him I have no checks. He said give me cash. I went to my wallet and said I only have 20s so I gave him 120 and he said he has no change. I said OK please leave because I have an appt. At that point, I was very scared of him. I was home with a young child and I wanted him out of my house. He did not give me a receipt or any written bill or even a work order. He took my $120 for 5 minutes of screwing in an old fuse and left. After 20 minutes his old fuse blew! Lights out again. I again went to the drugstore and bought new fuses for $5 , I screwed them in and they are still operating. I know I look young, blonde and dumb but how insulting to be scammed by this electrician who thought he could charge me $120 to screw in an old fuse. Just a side note- I do have a medical degree from Columbia University where I did much harder work than screwing in a fuse into a socket LOL. The electrician writes that he was in my apt months ago giving an estimate.I have NEVER met him before. I have NEVER spoke to him. If he dealt with another person who lived here previously- thats great but I have no written estimate addressed to me, no knowledge of anything that was discussed. I called him in July to get an estimate to replace the old fuse box! He decided to make a quick buck and to take advantage of me by screwing in an old fuse and pretending this is brain surgery. Shame on him! Thank you for allowing me to file this complaint and I hope no other woman gets swindled by him. Best Regards, [redacted] Three months before this visit I personally came and gave an estimate for the much needed electrical work. At that time I told the owner that the main service was woefullyundersized. I also told them that the wiring in the apartment is original from the1940's and that you cannot run three air conditioners on the old lines in the walls. In mid July I was called to the apartment to check a no light condition. When I arrived the hall light and two bedrooms were out. The owner had a blown fuse in her hand and said she had no others

In response to [redacted] complaint I will give the factual account of what actually happened. We were called to repair lights out in half the apartment. Three months before this visit I personally came and gave an estimate for the much needed electrical work. At that time I told the...

owner that the main service was woefullyundersized. I also told them that the wiring in the apartment is original from the1940's and that you cannot run three air conditioners on the old lines in the walls. In mid July I was called to the apartment to check a no light condition. When I arrived the hall light and two bedrooms were out. The owner had a blown fuse in her hand and said she had no others. I went to my truck and got two 15 Ampfusetat fuses which I haven't replaced in ten years because it is such old technology. The lights came on and I noticed both air conditioners were on that old line. I told the owner that two air conditioner on that old line is a bad idea. I was told she had done this before and it was ok. The lights were on and she asked me how much do I owe you. I told her the service call was $115.00 and she gave $120.00 in cash. There was no anger or demands made by me. I left and a few hours later I received a message from the customer accusing me ofall types of thievery and malfeasance. To this day I still don't understand how this escalated to this point.Thank You. [redacted] and Sons family business since 1930.
