In response to [redacted] complaint I will give the factual account of what actually happenedWe were called to repair lights out in half the apartmentThree months before this visit I personally came and gave an estimate for the much needed electrical workAt that time I told the owner that the main service was woefullyundersizedI also told them that the wiring in the apartment is original from the1940's and that you cannot run three air conditioners on the old lines in the walls.In mid July I was called to the apartment to check a no light conditionWhen I arrived the hall light and two bedrooms were outThe owner had a blown fuse in her hand and said she had no othersI went to my truck and got two Ampfusetat fuses which I haven't replaced in ten years because it is such old technologyThe lights came on and I noticed both air conditioners were on that old lineI told the owner that two air conditioner on that old line is a bad ideaI was told she had done this before and it was okThe lights were on and she asked me how much do I owe youI told her the service call was $and she gave $in cashThere was no anger or demands made by meI left and a few hours later I received a message from the customer accusing me ofall types of thievery and malfeasanceTo this day I still don't understand how this escalated to this point.Thank You [redacted] , [redacted] and Sons family business since
Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted] , and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because: All statements made by electrician are falseThe electrician writes: We were called to repair lights out in half the apartment.I never called him to repair the lightsI called him to replace the old fuse boxMy current fuse box is located in my hallway and it has threaded sockets into which the fuses are screwed inFor the last years, I have replaced the old socket fuses from my local drugstore which charges $for a box of fusesIt easily screws in and lasts about a few months, then it blows if too much electricity is usedAfter doing this routine for the last years, I realized its time to get an updated fuse box that does not have the old Edison screw type fusesI called this electrician to come and replace the box When he walked in I was holding the old fuse and he said he would replace it with a new oneI was a bit confused because I explained that I can get new fuses from my drugstore and am very capable of screwing in a fuse which I have done for years but I am sick and tired of doing this same routine and therefore need a new fuse boxHe went to his truck and brought in a worn out fuse and screwed it inI said what? will you please replace the fuse box? He said he would give me an estimate but told me I owe him $- I said what? He said 115! I got very nervous by his demeanor and told him I have no checksHe said give me cashI went to my wallet and said I only have 20s so I gave him and he said he has no changeI said OK please leave because I have an apptAt that point, I was very scared of himI was home with a young child and I wanted him out of my houseHe did not give me a receipt or any written bill or even a work orderHe took my $for minutes of screwing in an old fuse and leftAfter minutes his old fuse blew! Lights out againI again went to the drugstore and bought new fuses for $, I screwed them in and they are still operatingI know I look young, blonde and dumb but how insulting to be scammed by this electrician who thought he could charge me $to screw in an old fuseJust a side note- I do have a medical degree from Columbia University where I did much harder work than screwing in a fuse into a socket LOLThe electrician writes that he was in my apt months ago giving an estimate.I have NEVER met him beforeI have NEVER spoke to himIf he dealt with another person who lived here previously- thats great but I have no written estimate addressed to me, no knowledge of anything that was discussedI called him in July to get an estimate to replace the old fuse box! He decided to make a quick buck and to take advantage of me by screwing in an old fuse and pretending this is brain surgeryShame on him!
