Review: The retaining wall built by Herman Bros started to collapse within the 5 year warranty issued on their receipt. We called within the 5 years. They refused to fix under the warranty stating it was because of other work done that had nothing to do with what Herman bros built. Herman Bros said they would fix for an astronomical amount of money. Had other companies look at wall and they all determined that it was because of faulty construction by Herman Bros.Desired Settlement: We have an estimate to fix this error by Herman Bros by another REPUTABLE company for 4800 dollars. I want a $2200 check to offset their mistake so we can avoid getting an attorney.

Several years after Herman Bros. Corp. built the [redacted] a interlocking concrete retaining wall the next door neighbor built a similar wall within feet of ours. That neighbors wall was built at a lower grade, when there earth settled over a period of time the [redacted] wall settled. The installation of the neighbors wall disrupted the earth supporting the [redacted] wall compromising it and causing it to settle. I am standing firmly by my claim. Thank you.

The response is false. We contacted them within the 5 years stated on the receipt that there is a warranty for 5 years. NOWHERE does it say in the warranty that work done ELSEWHERE is not a part of the warranty...even though I have had other people look at the work and it was determined that this was faulty workmanship. They refuse to honor the warranty...the wall needs to be fixed. I stand by my offer before retaining an attorney. Send a check for what I asked and this complaint will be resolved.

Review: Property Damage by Company. Claim against Erick H[redacted], Principal and Owner, and Herman Bros Landscape Contracting Corp a/k/a Herman Brothers Landscape Corp with addresses in [redacted] and [redacted]. Company employee drove into and smashed expensive portable basketball hoop. After the damage, the men left the hoop shattered on the ground and proceeded to service an adjacent neighbor's lawn. After hurrying to finish the men quickly packed up to leave the scene until a different neighbor who had witnessed the whole thing stopped them. The entire incident was also caught on surveillance tape and after being approached by my neighbor witness, the driver of the vehicle left a written confession of the damage with his and the company office's phone numbers. None of the men cleaned up any of the mess, but rather left me with a dismantling project of over 2 hours for which I had to enlist the help of 3 other people and ultimately had to hack saw by hand, the heavy poles for trash removal. I phoned the man who left the note less than 30 minutes after he left. He answered promptly and advised me that he made the office aware of what happened and that the basketball hoop would be replaced by them. He asked me to phone the office with the information which I did. The office woman, Maria, indicated that she was aware of the incident, as was the owner, and that he would phone me back. He did not. In the ensuing days I phoned and emailed daily. I received one voicemail from the owner 4 days later. He had still not reimbursed me or given me information that he ordered a replacement in line with my previous emails and calls. I phoned him back that very day - within 45 minutes of his message. He did not answer and has not called again to this date. I have continued to phone daily with the exception of Labor Day and today. The owner and the company have ignored every communication from me. It seems clear at this point that they have no intention of remedying this, but rather, they are hoping I will just go away and eat the financial cost of the loss they have caused me. This complaint, as well as a police report with witness statement, as well as a complaint with the licensing bureau department of consumer affairs were each filed today after numerous attempts to resolve this matter have gone ignored by owner Erick Herman. In addition, the surveillance footage was extracted and copied in anticipation of this company pushing me to the point of having to file civil litigation.Desired Settlement: Simply stated: For them to DO THE RIGHT and honorable thing.

Replace the unit as per the item number sent to them including the cost of tax, shipping and assembly.

Alternatively, issue a cashier's or bank check immediately in the amount of 700.96.

As a side note, had they addressed this when it happened, they would have saved themselves several hundred dollars. The shipping and assembly was free and the item, on sale. I constantly phoned them over this. What could have been a $500 mistake for them has turned into a $700 mistake. But then again, they seem to have no intention of paying anything. Thankful for full color video time stamped and dated surveillance, as well as eyewitness and written confession.
