[redacted] Case # [redacted] This letter is in response to a better business complaint. Complaint admitted on 1/23/17. This gentleman presented to our office requesting custom-made arch supports for his flat feet. He stated that he recently received custom-made arch supports...
from the Veterans Administration Hospital but unfortunately they hurt his feet and he cannot wear them. An examination followed including x-rays to determine if there is any underlying arthritis that may be exacerbating pain. The exam also found that the patient's circulation was compromised. A follow-up appointment was made for an ankle brachia! index to further determine the status of his circulation and indeed it was found to be decreased. At a follow-up appointment to discuss these results the patient was informed of this. We also discussed possibly placing him into a different style of foot and ankle braces. Since he was having trouble with his current orthotics it was felt that something different should be tried and thus the foot and ankle braces were recommended. At this point the patient stated that as long as he wears a flat shoe he is doing okay and he elected not to follow up with any further care. Should he reconsider we will be happy to see him again for continued care. Best Regards, Dr. Donald C[redacted], DPM
