Revdex.com,
05/11/15Here is our reply to complaint ID#[redacted]This lady called us and explained she had a high light on the rear of her house that she wanted replaced, she said we would...

need a high ladder. We recommended an LED light so each time a bulb burned out, she would not need to find someone with a tall ladder to replace a bulb, she liked this idea. She asked us how much the job would be, we quoted her $425.00 total, labor and materials included- job unseen. She asked us how much the LED fixture would cost, we did not have one purchased obviously, so I told her around $160 probably. This was an educated guess since they typically run between $100-$200 but we were not yet sure which one we would need until we drove by her house to see where it needed to go. She agreed to the quote and asked us to proceed when we had time, and to make sure it was before the end of May 2015.A month or so later we went and did the job. Our tech drove by, saw where it needed to go, and went and bought an LED light to meet her needs and match her white windows. After the job was completed, she said she looked up the cost of the light and we should give her a $90 refund. I told her when someone asks for a quote, that is the price of the job, she did not call a month earlier and ask for a time and material price, she had asked for a quote, just as if she was asking for a new roof quote, or hot water tank quote, that is the price.I told her numerous times, and can verify this in her emails, if she was that unhappy, we would return and put her old light up, and take the new light down, and give her all of her money back, all $425. Her old light still worked fine, so there was no harm if we put it back up. Each time I offered this to her, she declined and would insult me. She mentioned things about my mother being ripped off, I believe she mentioned because she was older that I should give her a refund and that I too would be older one day, of course she does not know how old I am to begin with. She appears to constantly be oblivious to the fact she asked for a quote, we gave her a quote, we then did exactly what work she called us to do in the 1st place, no less, but now should get a refund. She then came up with a story that her homeowners was going to pay for her getting this new light installed, even though her other light worked fine, and I should give her a written breakdown of each item- materials and labor, as if it were a time & material charge and not a hard quote.I told her again, we would return and put her old light back up and give her a check to refund all of her money, I told her if she did not want us to return and put her old light back up and give her a check to refund her money, our business was finished. She again declined to have us return and refund her money and put her old light back up. Anyone can contact me to discuss this or view the emails.Thank you [redacted]

Dear [redacted],Thank you for your quick response. I really did not want to make a big production out of something that could have been handle so simply. I am just looking for fairness in this matter. I am 68 years old and I should have been better informed, when I made the purchase. I am enclosing all the e-mails of our conversations.
He also claims that the work took two hours. This was untrue. His worker came at 11:30 and by 12:00 he was done. Like I said, a simple installed. If he did not have the $160.00 Led light. He should had told me and reduce the price of light or he could have told me to go buy my own light. But, he figure I was not going to inquire because I am an old lady. I do not know any better. There is a big difference in price and quality.
Is ashamed people cannot be honest to one another. His worker came with a blank sale receipt. He also knew that I needed to pay with a credit card. He said he could not give me a refund because he did not know how to do transaction.(Lesson learned]. It is a shame this will have an impact on the worthiness and honesty of a good business. I asked him if this was his mother would he allow such action. He said, that she would say that $425.00 was a fair price.I am not against paying for the service even if he did not provide excellent customer service. The worker did install a light. But I am against being taken advantage of and laugh all the way just because he can especially with women that are not inform of such practices and are trust worthy. He does not realize that businesses get customers by word of mouth. I have not started working the late shift yet. So I have not had the opportunity to see if it works yet. I hope that I will not have a hassle with having someone come make an adjustment.Thank you for your time and attention.Sincerely,[redacted]

Review: On April 29,2015. I made an inquery to Heritage Electrical Service. I had a need to have exterior security motion lighting installed.I had a business card. I am sorry to say I did not make an inform decision. My mistake. I had thought that I used this electrical company in the past. Anyway, I contacted the owner [redacted]. I asked him how much would he charge for a Motion light. His price for light was $160.00 and all together he was charging $425.00. That included the light labor and taxes. I agree with price. I had gotten a job from 3-11:30 and needed the security as I live alone. He said he would call and let me know when someome was coming on the following week. which he did. I did not have a problem with anything until the electrician arrive to my home. He said, he could not find the color of the light I wanted. So, I said is okay if is white. I already had outlet all he had to do was remove the fixture that was already in place. It was a simply install.I thought that the price of the light would change since it was cheaper. I know I should had gotten the light myself from home depot which is what they did. The Cost $ 79.97.I had been agreeable at first if the light would had been the quality of $160.00. But it is not. I asked for itemized statement.I was given a statement without totals. I had to write amount myself. If he knew he could not find a light for the $160.00 which I paid. He should had mention that when the electrician arrived at my home. I complaint in an e-mail and he said that the price was agreeable to me two weeks ago. That is true. But I no way in knowing the light would cost less.I did have the time to investigate the price. It was my fault the customer should be aware. I used a credit card and he said he does not know how to retract the payment. I have agreed to leave it alone. But electrician should make it perfectly clear to a good customer. I think he inflated the price. He should not be allow to do that. Thank youDesired Settlement: For the difference of cost of light installed.
