Hertrich Buick GMC Reviews (2)

Review: Purchased a 1990 Jeep Wrangler from Hertrich with the guarantee in writing that they would Delaware inspect vehicle. Could not take vehicle home the day of purchase as it had not gone thru inspection. Had to call several times to be told that it had failed inspection and were taking it back thru. Couple days later stopped in to check on vehicle and they brought it out with temp tag and told me I would get hard tag in mail. Left dealership thinking everything was good to go. A couple days later got call that they wanted to pick jeep up to take thru inspection again as it had failed. Was not informed of this when picked up or I would not have done so that day. It failed again and when they dropped back off they said I would have to take thru inspection as they were not going to do so anymore. Spoke to [redacted] Hertrich next day and he asked if he could call me back but has never done so. I have left him several voice mails over the last couple of weeks. Neither himself, the sales manager or salesman that sold me vehicle will take my calls or return them as well.Desired Settlement: All I want it what was promised in writing. Hertrich to take vehicle back through DE inspection and make sure passes and give me permanent tags that were paid for.

Response:

On 08/24/2015 [redacted] purchased a 1990 Jeep Wrangler from Hertrich Buick GMC. The price was agreed upon and it was stated and put on a we-owe "Delaware Inspection". On the 25th the vehicle was taken through inspection but failed inspection for the tires sticking out to far, brakes, and emissions. The attempt was made to swap wheels and tires to more narrow tires, these were still out to far, so we fabricated fender flares, and adjusted the brakes to take back through. On the 26th the vehicle was again taken through inspect ion, this time failing for brakes and a lso emissions. The vehicle returned back to the dealership and brakes adjust ed again. I was at the general Manager Meeting on the 27th' so I am only repeating what was said that happened on that day. On the 27th we had been informed that in Delaware if a vehicle is over a certain age and you can provide a bill of over XX amount, that you can have the vehicle passed back through inspection. We then printed out the ticket that was opened up on 07/31/2015 (closed 08-24-2015) which was for replacing a carburetor. The vehicle was supposed to go through Delaware inspection that day, but it was completely overlooked until Mrs. [redacted] came in later on that afternoo n. When she came in the attempt was made to have the vehicle taken through Delaware Inspection however [redacted] said he could not provide runners because it was around 4:00 and he had no one he could get. [redacted] removed the fenders to help get the customer's vehicle upf[redacted]t and ready for them. When I got in the next day we had made the decision that when the locking lug nuts {also on the We-Owe) were in stock we would call and let her know we needed to finish the inspection and install the locking lug nuts. I am not 100% sure what day but we then had picked up the vehicle, but I do know that we picked up the vehicle, re fabricated 1 fender, reinstalled the other fenders, and then had the runner go to the OMV to take the bill showing that we spent over XX amount on emissions to have it passed. We then took the vehicle through and it failed this time [redacted] said it was because the bill had to be in the customer's name and the customer runs the vehicle through the inspection lane for it to pass. [redacted] redid the original bill in the customer's name so that it would be able to be taken by the customer through inspection. We then had the vehicle taken back to her. The sa lesperson delivered it back with the necessary paperwork for the vehicle to be driven through by the customer ancl have it passed. On t he 26th of September I attempted to contact Mrs. [redacted] and left a message for her to contact me. I received a response back from her father, Roland, on 09/29/2015 andI explained to him the reason that we needed her to take the jeep through Delaware inspection to complete this transaction. Roland then told me he would contact her to take the vehic le through inspection. On 09/30/20 15, Roland called me back to let me know that the vehic le had passed throughinspection and that Mrs. [redacted] would have the Delaware inspection at work with her on 10/01/2015. We have picked up the inspection and are sending out the tag work for processingIf you should need further information, please do not hesitate to contact me at [redacted]

Review: I purchased a truck along with my son on July 8. Papers were signed and the truck was tagged and picked up on the 13th. I received a call on July 18 from the salesman saying we needed to sign one more paper. I told him we couldn't get up there and he said he would call back monday. He called my son on Monday asking him to come after work to sign the paper they needed signed. I did not know this until I called my son to see where he was. That is when they told him they had to take the truck back due to a failed deal with the man that sold them the truck. I then went to the dealership and told them we were taking the truck because we had signed all paperwork and had the temp tag, registration and bill of sale. They told me we could not take it. I called the de state police, the trooper got both sides of the story and told the General manager that they were in the wrong and what was going on seemed "shady". He then told them they had to give us the key back and that's when the general mgr told him that they would not send the paperwork to the bank which could result in repossession of the truck. The trooper told us at this point we need to call the bank, contact the Mva and file a complaint with you. I have never dealt with anything like this and am completely disgusted as to how they got my 18 yr d son there under false pretenses and then refused to give me the key back.Desired Settlement: I would like this deal to be finalized as I thought it was on the 8th when all papers were signed
