I am rejecting this response because Hertz did not follow the procedures per their agreement with Bank of AmericaI have since bought a car from a respected Bank of America dealer and at no time did they ask for any personal information, they just took the pre-approved loan letter from Bank of America (just like how the process is set up to be) and I drove away with the car Again, Hertz did submit a loan application on my behalf to the bankI received a letter from the bank as proofI only filled out a information for at Hertz because they stated they needed the information on file, not knowing that they would be using my information falsely and submitting another loan for me to a bank where I already had a loanMost people would not get approved for a loan over top of a loan already approvedTo say that Hertz was not negligent in this is wrong, they didn't follow their agreement with Bank of America, they obtained my personal information under pretenses and they negatively affected my credit score due to all these factorsAgain, they need to remove themselves from the Bank of America car list if they don't want to do business the right way, stop lying to their customers that they understand the right procedures and provide training to their sales people and finance officers so that no one else has to work to fix their mistake again

He contacted us here approx. 5-6 weeks after the sale looking for his new license plates and his title (he paid cash). We had an unexpected title issue with this vehicle that...

we had originally registered in Georgia. Processing delays from the DMV prevented us from completing the registration as quickly as we expected. I have spoken with Mr. [redacted] on multiple occasions and explained the title situation. I also paid for and generated a 30-day temporary tag extension...Mr. [redacted] has these on his car now. On 11-24-14 at approximately 1300 hours I arrived at Hertz Car Sales to look at a 1995 Geo Metro. I previously inquired about this exact car and expressed a desire to look at it. I was told to come in. I took this to mean that the car was indeed on their lot.
Upon arrival I asked to speak with Mr. [redacted], the gentleman who had responded to my email. I told him who I was and told him I wanted to look at the Geo.
He began to explain to me that "sometimes the website shows cars that are not on our lot."
I can understand that this happens. It's not a big deal. But I had just driven 50 miles after being lead to believe that this car was on the lot. My first response from the dealer was "Let me see if this is on the lot." I replied with a thank you and received this message:
Hello Thomas,
This is [redacted] with Hertz Car Sales, I just wanted to touch base with you regarding the vehicle of interest, When you make it to the Tri-Cities just feel free to call me @ (547-7600 or my cell @ (509) xxx-xxxx thanks and I look forward to speaking with you soon.
I took this to mean the car was on the lot. It was not. Mr. [redacted] of Hertz Car Sales of the Tri-Cities willingly mislead me to get me on the lot. He then tried to hook me into looking at other cars. I let him know that I had come to look at *that* specific car and asked him point blank if he had known at the time her replied to my email that the Metro was not on the lot.
He lied to me and said he hadn't know. Hertz Car Sales of the Tri-Cities is a mid-sized lot. Any salesman worth his salt knows what he has to sell from. This guy just lied to get me on the lot.
I assumed the days of "Do whatever it takes to get them on the lot" were over. With the advent of the internet, reputation is everything. And Mr. [redacted] should be made aware of the effect one lying salesman can have on a dealership.
Mr. [redacted] really tarnished Hertz Car Sales of the Tri-Cities' reputation today.
Had he told me the car was in Salem and not in the Tri-cities he could have made his overtures then as to what I wanted and tried to help place me in a car. Not after lying to get me to drive out of my hometown to see a car that wasn't there.
I bought the first car my wife and I ever purchased from Hertz. We had a great experience years ago and was hoping for a repeat of that experience. My intent was to purchase this ugly geo for me to zip back and forth to work in and to find something cushy and uptown for her.
That didn't happen today. I will never purchase from Hertz again, and I will endeavor to do my damnedest to make sure no one I know does either.

I just recently purchased a car with them I traded in my BMW 325i for a 2010 Nissan Altima filled out the paper work test drove it took good 4 hours left in the Nissan Altima they said no news was good news after about 3 days I gave them a call see how it was going they said they were still waiting about 5 days go by they call said hey good news we got an approval but not for the 2010 but for a 2014 Nissan Altima with 51,000 miles on it so we go in to get fill out some more paper work took couple hours go to start it and the Nissan doesn't start they go on to say it was battery if I could come back tomorrow I agree and leave next day comes I go to head there around 5 get all the way to west 11th then get a call saying they hadn't got it fixed to come back the following day so this goes on for few days I call to see what's going on they say they don't know that there car for sent to Nissan it's at Nissan for 2 days I call them once again they turn around and say there was an electrical problem with the car which messed up the brain but they have a different car for me I ask them what they have he said a 2012 Ford escape nothing what I wanted in the first place I hate fords I wanted a car not a SUV they go on to say there's nothing else they could put me in delittle my husband and I because of our situation and said good luck finding someone else which perty much pulled my husband's arm into thinking he wouldn't be able to get me anything better so he settles for the Ford because for the last couple weeks this caused so much stress on our family and especially my husband who suffers from ptsd from serving 3 times overseas it was very disheartening to see how they treat military person that has served for this country and the family they were so rude on how they handled everything. Come to find out 2 days after having the Ford the transmission is slipping how this past there 10 point inspection is beyond me I highly recommend you do not go there for a trade in or to just buy a car worse experience ever

My company requires that I rent from Hertz for business use, and I rent cars for about a month at a time about 3-4 times a year. As a company, we spend millions of dollars with Hertz. I have rented cars from Hertz from many locations throughout the country and this, by far, is the worst place I've ever rented from.
My situation: I dropped off my car after a business trip on 6/4/2015 after having it for one month and 6 days. My original reservation was for a full-size vehicle and at no time was I told by the agent that I was assigned a vehicle in my class which is normally what happens when I rent a car. Instead, the agent at the counter gave me an option of 3 vehicles; a Honda CR-V, a Kia Sorrento or a Toyota Camry. Now I have had a few courtesy upgrades in my travels and I figured this was no different so I opted for the CR-V and figured this was a no-charge upgrade. As I was traveling back home, my bill was in my email. I opened it to find that it came to a total of $2712.37 which included an "upgrade fee". I was floored because I did not ask for an upgrade and at no time during my interaction with the agent did he say that my selection was going to cost me an upgrade fee.
Since I dropped off my car I have had the location email me back my rental agreement and I see where they tacked on the $25/day "upgrade fee", so I certainly am responsible for it since I did initial it. My beef is that at no time was I advised that my selection was worthy of an upgrade because I was not originally assigned a car. Again, I have rented many cars in the past with Hertz and every time except for this one I was assigned a vehicle first, then given an option of other cars (or I've asked for possible different cars knowing I may incur and upgrade charge). In my opinion, this place was predatory in their dealings with me and others who were coming in for business as well. I do know of another colleague who was assessed extra fees from this particular Hertz location.

I was in an accident in the spring and used Hertz for a rental car! The accident was not my fault! I was charged $254. After I returned the car because supposedly I signed for the supplemental insurance on the rental that my insurance wouldn't cover. The gentleman that took care of me asked me if I want that insurance and I explained if this was FREE to me I would except to use it. Well it wasn't FREE and now out $254 for an accident that wasn't even my fault! Hertz also collected over $500 from the parties insurance of the customer that hit me! I have been calling to get some kind of refund since July and I get the run around BS story! Very dissatisfied and will NEVER rent a car from HERTZ ever again!
