On May 8, 2015, I received a check from Hertzberg Furs for item on consignment. The amount of check was not total amount of consignment agreement.On May 8, 2015, I received a check from Hertzberg Furs for an item I had on consignment,Invoice #XXXXX. I have contacted the company on 9 separate occasions (5/21,5/23,5/26,6/11,6/26,7/8.7/15,8/7,9/21) to correct and receive the correct amount of my property they sold on consignment. During every call/conversation, I was informed that they don't "cut the check" and that they would contact the "main office" to get corrected. On 9/21/15, I called and was told that I would receive a return call from a representative. As of this date, I have not received a call or a total refund check ($300.00) from the company.Desired SettlementI'm requesting that the company fulfill the contract agreement as agreed upon by both parties and I receive the total amount of refund due ($300.00)to me as stated in the contract agreement.Business Response /[redacted]/The customer is actually owed $450, not the $300 that was claimed. Unfortunately, there was a bit of confusion from both parties involved; allow me to explain: the customer had three fur garments on consignment with us, with the understanding that she would receive 50% of the agreed upon value once sold. We were able to sell two of them. One was a mink coat for $900 and one was a mink stole for $300. The customer acknowledged that she received a check for $150 on May 8th, 2015. This was the 50% payment for the stole that we sold. It seems as though she was under the impression it was a partial payment for the $900 coat we also sold ($900 divided by 2 = $450, and $450 minus the $150 check we sent her is the $300 figure that the customer cited). In summation, the customer received her $150 payment for her stole, but, due to an unfortunate oversight and a clerical error on our part, the customer was under the assumption that she was still owed $300. As I outlined above, the customer is actually owed more than what she was rightfully asking for and we have since sent a check for $450, which fulfills our end of the agreement. We feel terrible that we were not able to resolve this in a more timely manner and offer our sincerest apologies to the customer. We have taken expedient steps to rectify this issue and will certainly use this as a lesson to learn from going forward so that we can continue to give our clients the best customer service possible.
