On the initial service call we contacted tech support for the [redacted] product and we were told by the manufacturer as to which part to replaceAfter we did that and it did not solve the problem then we had to change another part to fix itWe did not come to this conclusion and regardless the labor warranty was expired and there is a charge for us to come out and fix itOur tech states he never said that the customer would not have to pay for labor, only the part was warrantiedWe will not refund any monies ,period

After reviewing the situation with our tech, which we did not have a chance to before the call came in, the tech states he never told the customer the labor was under warrantyThe labor warranty on his equipment expired on 6/22/He was told only the parts were warrantiedIn fact there should
have been an additional charge for the tech's travel time and warranty processing but he was not charged$is significantly less then he should have been charged

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because: Had the tech installed the correct part which the company ordered in February then the second visit to install the correct part would not have been necessary and there would not have been an additional labor chargeThe tech wrote on the February invoice that the correct part will be installed in May and that the bill was paid in fullWe understood that this included correction the mistake that they made and paid the bill in fullThe tech did indicate that there would be no addition chargeHe did not say that there would an additional labor charge for installing the correct part after the wrong part was installedWe purchased the water heater from this company and the company installed this water heaterIn all good faith we called this company for service for their product when it was needed and paid for their service when it was dueWe believe that the labor charge for correction the companies own mistake was paid for when the February invoice was paid in full and that we should be refunded the $for the May labor charge
Sincerely,

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2014/11/24) */
We repaired 3 units and all 3 were in working order when our tech left. The customer signed the work acknowledging so. They called 3 days later to say they needed service again. I was out of town , 400 miles away , but my tech reaced me to ask...

if he should go on the call and said he had never worked on these type of unit and was not sure he could fix it. Since the previous call did not involve any part replacement there was no warranty and anything else that was wrong would have been chargeable, I instructed the tech to explain this to the customer so we would not show up and waste their time and money and find someone who works on this particular type of unit(thru wall heat pump).
Instead of waiting for me to return from my trip these people elected to stop payment on the check.
As of right now I am out the $233.95 from the service call, $7.50 that my bank charged for the returned check. Besides that I still have to pay my tech's labor and the associated overhead so all tolled Mel-O-Air is at -$406.45.
You want to settle- what's your offer.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 15, 2014/12/05) */
I would like you to reduce the payment to 150.00 and report to the creditors that payment is paid in full.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 20, 2014/12/17) */
We will split the bill with you based on the $406 number. Pay $203 and we will stop the collection.
