HGC (Hunter G. ***) was hired to build and install custom cabinets for a small kitchen and bath. Mr. wrote the contract detailing the materials to be used, finishes, costs, and schedules. The granite countertops were to remain, the unique door pulls, door hinges and under counter lighting system were to be stored for reinstallation. A $7,500 deposit was required up front. Mr. said drawings would be submitted for approval prior to commencing work.

No drawings were submitted. Work began only days before his 60 day deadline was up. The door knobs, hinges, and lighting had been removed from our home without notice or permission.

On the long awaited day of installation, only four cabinets were complete. Mr. used incorrect materials with incorrect finishes, and incorrect dimensions on all four upper cabinets. The workmanship was beyond substandard, nowhere near the high quality and professionalism guaranteed in his own contract.

While working, Mr. then carelessly cracked one of the three beautiful granite kitchen countertops which were to remain. He was told not to touch the bath until problems in the kitchen were resolved He said he could not repair the stone, then proceeded to destroy and remove all three granite countertops, informing us he would not be responsible for the $6,000 it would cost to replace he granite.

We were patient with Mr. at every turn, but this was our limit We have incurred nearly $15,000 in direct losses and were without a kitchen for months while looking for Mr. who shut down his Facebook page, changed his phone number, returned the Letter of Demand, left town, and evaded all contacts from the police.

We are senior citizens who were taken advantage of and cheated by Mr. who admitted to the police that he had done a terrible job. We could not agree more. We are pursuing this avenue so others in this community do not have this happen to them.
