H&H Plumbing Company Reviews (1)

Review: On [redacted], H&H Plumbing was reinstalling the toilet in the second bathroom and while tightening the water line fitting the pvc pipe broke inside the wall. The plumber was able to shut off the water but not before water had flowed into the surrounding rooms causing water damage to the wood floors as well as the bathroom vanity. H&H Plumbing returned on June 21st to repair the broken pvc pipe and was told about the water damaged vanity but has not returned to install the toilet nor respond to the water damaged vanity. The water damaged wood floors were replaced on June 23rd and this expense was covered by H&H Plumbing as a $500.00 credit to our bill along with an $80.00 drywall repair credit. While flooring installers were replacing the wood floor, the baseboard on the outside wall of the bathroom was removed and the floor installer pointed out to us that the the wall was soaked from the water pipe break. The vanity is joined to this wall and we are very concerned that the water soaked wall/vanity may possibly growing mold. My wife and son are highly susceptible to becoming ill from mold. H&H Plumbing left us a voicemail stating they would no longer continue the service at our house and would not complete the repairs caused by them.Desired Settlement: H&H Plumbing be responsible for the following:

1. The cost of installing the toilet.

2. The cost of removing, replacing and reinstalling to working condition a new vanity of equal or greater value.

3. Replacing any other discovered water damaged materials including but not limited to drywall, moldings, texturing, painting and tile work.

4. Any possible medical bills caused by health problems from mold growth due to the water damage.

Response:

Upon completion of Minor renovations to the customers residents, our tech was addressing a leaking preexisting cut off! Upon shutting the valve the cpvc piping leading to the valve broke causing water to flow into the area. Water supply was immediately shut and a water mitigation team was called to address the water that remained after the majority was evacuated by vacuum. In the days immediately following, the customer had a contractor of his choice make repairs to the area including dry wall and flooring at our expense. After repairs where made our company chose to suspend further action upon hearing that the resident prematurely evacuated the water mitigation equipment with out the consent of the mitigation team. I believe that our company took every action possible to assure that the repairs where made and in a very timely manner.

I am rejecting this response because:

The water mitigation equipment was evacuated after H & H Plumbing Co. suggested 48 hrs. and we did approximately 84 hours after which the flooring contractor repaired the water damaged laminate wood floor. It was not what the H & H Plumbing Co. stated as "prematurely evacuated". H & H Plumbing left us (the customer) with an un-installed toilet & water damaged vanity. The job was NOT completed (toilet) and damaged (vanity) caused by H & H Plumbing Co. were not replaced. We believe that is not how a company should treat any customer. H & H assured us after the water pipe broke that they were fully insured and would take care of any needed repairs. Instead they called and left me a voice mail stating that they would not be coming back to our home because he didn't want to jeopardize his business. We were and still are greatly disappointed in the lack of service provided after the water damage. Our expectation was for H&H to make good on their promises. Instead they left us with an unfinished job and repair.

Response:

As stated before the water mitigation equipment was removed by the home owner approximately 24 hours after the incident and was placed in the garage for pick up. This can be verified by the water mitigation specialist. We made every effort to assist the home owner with repairs and had the water mitigation specialist scheduled to return when the home owner decided to file a claim with our insurance and disregard any agreement we had to make repairs. Due to the premature evacuation of the equipment by the home owner the decision was made to stop any further action. When dealing with water mitigation and removal it is crucial to allow the specialist to complete this process to reduce damages. As for the commode, this was a free service offered to our customer and was removed for dry wall repair. This service was offered at no charge if our crew was on site and no additional trip was required. This was clearly stated in the beginning to [redacted]. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

I am rejecting this response because:

The response by H & H is inaccurate. First, the mitigation equipment was put into place on Wednesday, June 19th, the evening of the flooding incident and was not turned off and removed until Saturday afternoon, June 22nd. This can be verified by our flooring installers as they were the ones who helped us to move the mitigation equipment to the garage so that they could remove the damaged flooring and reinstall the new flooring.

Secondly, after H & H installed the replacement fitting on the end of the pipe for the commode, they did not return our numerous phone calls to them to come back and see the water damage to the vanity. H & H left us with a water damaged vanity and a commode that was not reinstalled. H & H had "volunteered" to install the commode. H & H had left us one voicemail stating they would not return because of concern to the liability to his company. Previously ** from H & H had assured us that he was insured and that he would cover any damages. It wasn't until after we made every attempt to contact him to resolve the replacement of the water damaged vanity and to reset the commode with no satisfaction that we decided to make a complaint with Revdex.com.

Finally, regarding the mitigation equipment it was left running beyond the agreed upon time. We had contacted the company on Friday, the 21st, and he said he would come to pick it up that evening. He did not pick it up until Sunday evening during our move. As I stated earlier we did not turn off and remove the equipment until Saturday afternoon when the flooring installers arrived.

There was no disregard by us to any agreement with H & H for them to make repairs and there was no premature evacuation of mitigation equipment. There was a lack of responsibility on H & H's part to do make things right by completing their work of resetting of the commode and the replacement of the water damaged vanity.
