Review: On or around 9/26/2014 I was in contact with [redacted] at Hi-Fi Heaven who agreed to honor the terms of their product being sold on [redacted] if I purchased directly from them as I was having trouble on the [redacted] site. This was for the purchase of two Sonance surface mount 55 speakers. The order was processed via my American Express card on 9/26/14 in the amount of $299.00.
[The following communications all took place in writing via email]
On 10/9/2014 [redacted] responded to my earlier email where I advised him the speakers arrived but were damaged. I confirmed to him that there was no damage to the packaging, not the box or any other packaging however the speakers themselves were.
On 10/13/14 [redacted] ironically asked if it was the grill that was dented. I never mentioned what the actual damage was, but it was infact the grill that was damaged. He stated maybe they could get me a replacement grill.
On 10/14/14 I responded that I would simply like to return the speakers and that he could look at them when they got back.
On 10/17/14 [redacted] responded that I could return them to the address on the box to which I said okay but I needed a return label or account number since the merchandise was damaged.
Between 10/17/14 and 1/14/15 I never heard back from Hi-Fi Heaven regarding my repeated requests and attempts for information on returning the speakers. Therefore, much to my complete dissatisfaction and dismay, I took the speakers to UPS on 1/14/15 and paid $25.42 to return them to the address on the box in Wisconsin. The package was delivered on 1/20/15 at 11:14am.
As of 3/21/15 I have not received a refund. I have not received communications from the company in any form since 10/17/14.
I filed a dispute with the credit card company who is also working to resolve the issue with company.Desired Settlement: I am requesting a refund in the amount of $324.42 for the speakers and shipping.
Speakers $299.00
Shipping $25.42

Response:
We found the speakers ••• however, we shipped you 2 boxes ... one was the speakers ... the other was thewall mounting plates. So, if you can get us that other box, we can refund you. Thanks[redacted]
I ordered a hi-fi product from this business, and supplied appropriate credit card information.
One week later, I received an email from Hi-Fi Heaven, saying they had difficulty because my shipping address was not the same as my billing address, and asking that I pay through PayPal instead. The credit card company *does* know my shipping address -- for years I have been receiving paid-for-by-credit-card shipments there, from a multitude of other businesses. I have my own reasons for not wanting to use PayPal for this transaction -- so I canceled my order with Hi-Fi Heaven.
If Hi-Fi Heaven has restrictions regarding where they will ship, or regarding how they want to be paid -- they should make those clear on their ordering page. It's their business - they can change the conditions after an order is placed; but it's my money - and I can take it elsewhere.
