This letter refers to complaints made against New Life Moving & Storage on 19 April 2015 in reference to a moving job done on 30 March 2015 and 14 April 1015. Thank you for writing to let us know about your experience when working with the employees of this company.New life Moving & Storage... is dedicated in helping families move from one location to another in an efficient manner with a minimum amount of stress. In order to help clients get a feel for the cost of a moving job, free estimates are given. As stated on our brochure, rates are $115.00/hour with a minimum of {3) hours. This rate includes the work of {3) employees, however, packing boxes cost extra and modifications with the contract will affect the overall cost. The workers for New Life Moving & Storage were accommodating to the client during the two day move job. Mr. [redacted] only charged for the labor of {3) workers instead of (4), meaning that Mr. [redacted] worked free of charge for the job. Time travel compensation was not charged even though the weather influenced the length of the travel time. The length of loading and unloading the truck is influenced by the abil ity to get into and out of the apartment. Walking into the apartment wasdifficult and hazardous seeing as the apartment was already filled with boxes and wares from storage. We have to take our time and work slower so that nobody gets injured on the job.Boxes can be supplied by New Life Moving & Storage, for a price, and we will even assist in the packing of the furniture and wares. However, in this case, the client decided that they were doing the packing themselves. This results in the workers not knowing what is located in which box. This means that the workers are not responsible for the damages that occur to the items in the boxes as they were not the ones to organize the packing. However, when something is damaged that is our fault, New Life Moving & Storage will take responsibility and repair the damages, as in the instance where a tray holder was damaged and later fixed at our expense. At the completion of a contract, a form is given to the client to sign. The person who signed the contract was different than the person overseeing the move job. By giving their signature, the clientis agreeing that, "All claims must be made at the time of the move.....Only damage ...noted on the pre- inspection list will be considered .....lf.....no claims.......client agrees .....signature on this invoice will release New Life Moving & Storage, INC. from any future claims ." Seeing as the client signed the invoice and the date written on the form is 4/15/15, the client is agreeing that there were no grievances at the completion of the job.New Life Moving & Storage is happy to help and make accommodations for the client as needed. However, doing so may change the estimate given when the contract was drawn up. We take our conductivity as representatives for the company seriously. It is our policy to give the client time to inspect our work before signing the invoice at the end of a job. Signing the contract lets us know the client is satisfied with our work and there are no complaints.Sincerely, [redacted] ***New Life Moving & Storage,Owner

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
This is a rebuttal response to *** ***’s complaint against him. *** *** was present for the first move from our aptto a storage facility. *** *** did help pack a little bit, then he left, leaving movers to complete the job. The men were polite and worked well. We did get some boxes from *** ***, and packed some ourselves and the men packed others. The next move from the storage facility to our house was when we witnessed some of the guys drop some boxes, the metal bed frame, and a wooden book shelf. ONLY men worked on the 2nd move, Roger did not come that day. The men were moving slower, it was almost like they were different men, but they were of the original men from the 1st move I moved my car from in front of their moving truck because they were moving slowly, and parked behind the truck hoping to get them moving like they did on the 1st move. One of men dropped a box, I said to be careful, checked the box right then and there, but it only contained metal pins, and obviously they did not break. Back at the house when they were unloading, they placed many of the boxes that were marked “FRAGILE” and “GLASS” and a couple marked “THIS END UP” in the garage upside down, placed other boxes on top of the “FRAGILE” and “GLASS” marked boxes, and didn’t seem to really care how they placed our many boxes and other items inside our garage. Moving in and out of our apartment on the first 1st move was NOT Difficult and Hazardous as *** *** claims. As I stated above, the men moved faster in and out of our apt., than they did in and out of the storage facility units All the broken items that came out of boxes were CLEARLY marked “FRAGILE, GLASS, and a couple THIS END UP”!!! ALL of the items in these MARKED boxes were wrapped in bubble wrap, newspaper, or were packed in boxes with dividers that also had packing materials around each item!! We saw the broken table that holds our tv tables, and showed it to the driver (either named *** or ***) and he wasn’t happy that we were going to file a complaint against Roger, and he offered to come back that weekend and fix the table holder himself, saying it only needed a plate and screw and he would take care of it. We agreed to this because we didn’t want this man to possibly get in trouble for the broken table holder. We also saw the broken bottom (holder) of an artificial tree that we decorate for different holidays, and told the driver that we would fix it ourselves, NEVER dreaming that once we unpacked boxes or more, we would discover so many broken things. The driver NEVER showed up that weekend to fix the table holder as *** *** is claiming, so I left *** *** a voice mail that Sunday. Not hearing from him, I left *** *** more voice mails the following Monday, but got no response from him. I filed a complaint with the Revdex.com soon after. And yes, *** signed the invoice paper because the driver said he needed it signed, and *** *** during this stressful time was trying to charge for moving men for this 2nd move, when ONLY men showed up. We were going back and forth through the driver’s phone over the charges, and when I yelled into the phone that I was going to the Revdex.com, Roger quickly changed his tune about over charging us, and said to charge us for hours at the rate of $per hour for moving men, instead of the price he was trying to get from us, which was $per hour for moving men. That’s a difference of $he was trying to OVERCHARGE us!!! We have pictures of the broken items, and some of the boxes they were packed in, and we are Holding onto the Broken Items for any later actions that may have to be taken by us!! On the 1st move, *** *** tried to OVERCHARGE us by hour, because they arrived 1/hour late due to rain, which he said he “FORGOT” about, and he also “FORGOT” about the 1/lunch time his movers took when they were NOT WORKING - how could *** *** forget about deducting the time his own men take for lunch?!!! AND, I also told the men to take - minutes for lunch, knowing it’s very difficult to go and eat and get back in 1/hour - AND we gave EACH of the moving men $dollars, being short on money at that time. -- We pl***d to give the moving men each $for the 2nd move, but as they were moving slowing (all on level ground at the storage facility), and dropping stuff, there was no way we giving them a bonus!!! We were very disappointed with their performance on the 2nd move, and even more disappointed and upset that *** *** AGAIN tried to OVERHARGE us!!! We are seeking that this complaint be on your web page for any and all other people to be aware of the difficulties we went through with the Pricing issues, trys at Overcharging us, and being RUSHED into signing the invoice from the driver from New Life Moving and Storage, run and possibly owned by *** ***. - *** ***’s business card states that he’s Bonded and Insured, so he should take the responsibility of doing the right thing and taking care of his customer’s broken items - some of which can NOT be replaced!! Truly Yours, *** ***
