The apartment complex not replacing my property due to water damage from their demo apartment next door, because we do not have rentals insurance. On 5\2\15 the demo apartment next to me flooded due to busted water hose on washer. I tried to contact the office about the water. There was no answer or emergency contact. My husband and I called the police department and explain to them what was wrong and the police department contact the fire department who came out broke into the apartment and stop the water from running. On 5/4/15 my husband went to the office to complain about the problem the office person told us we suppose to call the number for after hours. We explain that we did not have a number for after hour emergency so on a yellow sticky note she wrote the number which I still have. On the same day the apartment manager and I walk to the demo apartment and she entered my apartment to see the damage. I told her I couldn't let the water stay until Monday because I had company from out of town and I have a stream cleaner and w worked hard and sucked the water up. I then showed her my thing that had water damage 1 [redacted] LAB TOP P/N [redacted], 1 [redacted] LAB TOP S\N [redacted], P/N [redacted] 1 [redacted] IC [redacted] TYPE: [redacted] ,1 [redacted] 8 MODEL NO [redacted] AND 1[redacted] PC and monitor. S/N [redacted] MODEL NO: [redacted]. The manager inform me that she would inquire about it and get back in touch with me, she never did. On 7/1/15 I called back to the office and reported another water problem, this time in the laundry room from the ceiling. Well maintance came and said the AC unit drain pan was leaking they had some on order and wouldn't be in until Monday 7/6/15. By 7/3/15 the water had gotten worse so I wrote the complex a letter explaining about my property that was damage from the first time no one said anything about it and if my washer and dryer gets damage that I would seek legal action. After reading the letter the manager call me and I explain my letter to her because she thought the lab tops, computer and camcorder was damage from the leak in the laundry room. I explain what I had wrote about and she assured me she would check into it for me. On 7/9/15 the office manager came by my apartment to inform me that her boss told her theirs nothing they can do about my property because I should have rental insurance. I explain to her if I had rentals insurance I believe it would be my choice if I wanted to file it or not and I don't think that I should be responsible for my things being damage due to a mishap to their [redacted]. Now I have another water problem the closet in the living room is a closet and storage is flooded. I have a lot of boxes with important paper and clothing that is wet that I have to move due to this water. I called and reported this problem this morning about 8:30 am and its 12:16 pm and no one has showed up yet my things are getting soaked and no one wants to be responsible for it.Desired SettlementI will like to be reimburse for my damage property and compensated for my inconveniences and work to prevent farther damage.
