It is HG policy for deposits to be non-refundableTaking a deposit for a room venue is to guarantee both parties are
going to do business together and basically the fact that another venue will not be booked on the same dateA signed contract is not necessarily for the deposit amount, it is for the customer to understand our policies and procedures regarding what you can and can not do within the roomThe deposit was taken and the banquet manager verbally told the couple that it was not refundableThey understoodWe then proceeded with taste testing's and meetings to discuss arrangements, as in any practice of hosting their eventLater they decided to cancel their weddingWe explained to them that the deposit was not refundable and they knew that when we charged the amount to the mother's credit cardWe also told them that the $could be used up to one year within the time frameThey chose to blast HG in a bad manner on social networks, insteadWe do not tolerate this type of conduct and would of preferred them to come and talk directly to us, to make everyone happyThey even went on charity sights that HG hosts, to blast usThe charitable sights asked them not to post such matter on their sitesIn conclusion; we are extremely fair and give personal attention to all events that we bookWe pride ourselves to never having this sort of conflict before and it saddens me that because they did not get their way, that they felt it was necessary to bash usWe never accept deposits without the customer knowing it is non-refundable but can be used at another date, if the original date gets cancelled

***CUSTOMERS BEWARE*** Owners are extremely frugal! Their deposits require a contract to be signed before your deposit is considered valid! Well that's not the case DO NOT HAND THEM THE MONEY EVEN IF YOU DO NOT SIGN THE CONTRACT THEY WILL KEEP ITThis is under most conditions, but since they require a contract to be signed YOU HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO RECEIVE A REFUND! I have never even spoke with anyone working there or associated with this place until my wife said they will not give us our money backThis is sad that a business would do this to someoneIf you do not like a bad review, DO NOT DO BAD BUSINESSThen the owner takes to Facebook messaging to blast me! Attached are the list of conversationsI never agreed to anything with these crooks! They have $of my money, and I want it back! I never signed a contract, never had a verbal agree NOR a written verbal agreementIt's wrong they are trying to swindle me! The operations director was apologetic when she (***) told us the owners do not want to refund usShe had initially told my wife that she does not see a problem with it, but I guess *** didMaybe she really needed the $350? Who knows
