May car was involved in an accident on November 13th 2018. I took my car to ***'s to be repaired. My insurance covered the parts and labor and I covered the deductibles. I was called to come pay and pick my car up because ALL repairs had been completed. I paid and signed two receipts saying that the car was paid in full. When I picked up my car the following things were not complete: headlight was not changed, right side passenger window was not tinted properly and windows would not go down or up automatically had they did when I dropped the car off. I asked Mr.s when could they fix the tint on the window he told me I would have to call their guy. I also asked if they changed the headlight out he said, I have checked and double checked but I will check one more time and ask my guys. He never got back to me but I asked my insurance company for the pictures from the adjuster and prices of the parts and labor. From the pictures I was able to see that the headlight had not been changed but I (my insurance) had been charged. I again went back to Mr.s about all the issues I was having his response was, "one hand washes another you still owe me money ($555.16) so I will buff this out when we fix your tint and we call this a day.
To date my headlight was not replaced and my windows don't go up and down automatically like they did before ***'s did the repairs

Hicks Auto Body Response • Apr 05, 2019

Good afternoon,In response to a complaint filed by Ms. ***, I offer the truth. We repaired the aforementioned client's vehicle on or about the 15th of November 2018.When she picked the vehicle up, she was happy. She pointed out that we did not re-tint one of the windows. We immediately informed her that we would contact our tint guy and have both of them find a convenient time for her to drop off her vehicle. Unfortunately, our tint guy broke a couple of fingers in his hand and was physically unable to perform his normal duties. We informed our client of his situation, and gave her the option to go elsewhere and we would reimbursed her for the cost. She opted to wait. When the tint guy was healed, we set up an appointment to tint the right front window. We accommodated Ms. by providing her with an *** to and from, until we were finished. She never once mentioned to me that her window(s) did not go down on that particular day. We were limited in time, and forced to do whatever she considered most important. I called her back to let her know that it didn't make any sense to tint a window.... and then work to see why it isn't functioning properly. Please keep in mind, tints takes 3 full days to cure on a window. We would need time to diagnose the issue. FYI, our preliminary thought was/is that it is the master switch and may not be accident related. We offered as a courtesy that when she has time we would be more than happy to put her in a rental car for a day (at no cost to her) while we diagnose and solve the issue.Speaking directly to the monetary issue. It is a fact that Ms. owed us $500.00 (deductible), confirmed by her company on a three way call. We gave her a simple option regarding her $500 headlamp that was an oversight; in lieu of not paying the $500.00 that she rightfully owes us, we can mutually agree to forego the replacement of light (same price) or of course, we could replace the lamp, but of course we would expect for her balance to be paid in full. Two weeks ago, I telephoned Ms. and simply asked why was such a complaint was filed with the bureau. We had a decent conversation for about 10 minutes . I reiterated the offer to address the window switch while providing substitute transportation. I also reminded her of the deal that we mutually agreed regarding the light and her balance. She basically said it was over and that any further pursuit of funds like wasn't a big deal anymore. We have been fortunate enough for nearly 50 years. To have the same name, same owner, same phone #, and same address. We are gatefull for each and every opportunity. We are willing to do whatever it takes to add resolve each situation that may occur. We are only human.Thank you in advance for your continued support and sincere consideration to this important matter,Respectfully.
