Review: I have used this car service every morning to take two trips that are part of my daily routine. I've had drivers who have been good. They know how to get to my destination, they are not rude, and do not overcharge for the trip. However on several occasions, I have encountered drivers that intentionally overcharged me either $5 or $10 more for my daily trip, which I have had the price confirmed with the base prior to taking the trip. They even try to convince me that they are traveling to a different county then the actual county they are going to. For example, I've had drivers tell me that my Co-op City trip was actually a trip to Mount Vernon, or New Rochelle, when clearly the road signs say "Co-op City". They offer no explanation for the extra charge, not even a breakdown of the fares for my two trips to show how they arrived at the extra fare. When asked to confirm the price with the base dispatcher, they start the majority of their conversation in Spanish, give the dispatcher a totally different destination than what I have traveled, and ultimately the dispatcher insists that their driver is correct, although I have made numerous trips to the same destination, with other drivers at a lower fare, for the same company. One driver did this, although I requested that he confirm the fare in English (because I do not speak Spanish), he continued to speak to the dispatcher in Spanish and ignored my request. I had no idea what transpired in their conversation, and how they decided my fare. They do not offer a listing of the rates for the consumer to see either. In addition, these drivers were rude to myself and my co passengers. I had one driver who ignored a kind request from my daughter to switch to a different music station, several times. I had to ask him myself twice. The driver replied "Why?"I responded that we would just like to hear something different, and since I am paying for the trip, I should have an opportunity to choose the music that you play, if you are going to play music. He continued to argue with me, grumbling "Why? You pay for the trip, you don't pay for the radio..."He seemed to be upset because we wanted to hear a English music station. I have no problem with Spanish music, being of mixed descent, we just wanted to hear something different. I even told him this. He begrudgingly changed the station to whatever he felt we would like, he didn't ask us what we would like to hear. I even had a driver with this company insist that I pay an extra $10 because "he had to sit in traffic". Mind you, these are non meter car drivers, and I had no control over the route he chose to take to my destination, which resulted in his sitting in traffic, or the traffic itself, so there was no justification for his demands. I attempted to resolve these matters with the dispatchers, but they are never willing to assist, only willing to side with their drivers. I told one dispatcher that I would be filing a complaint with the taxi and limousine commission in regards to this and I would be visiting his base to speak to his [redacted] about the behavior of their drivers, and the unfair practices, and he said obnoxiously "Go right ahead, they are here every morning at 9:30am." I also told them I would no longer use their services, and rather than trying to preserve the relationship (I spend $150 weekly with this company), they simply wrote me off, as if I didn't matter at all. I also found drivers gossip between each other about incidents I have had with drivers. After I rode with a driver who tried to charge me $45, claiming that I was going to Mount Vernon and not Co-op City, he apparently told other drivers, because I had another driver that week laughingly say "This is Mount Vernon, $45!", once he dropped me at my destination. Apparently he found my experiences with other drivers amusing. I didn't find this funny at all, because it was stressful situation that I was in with that cab driver in the earlier incident, alone in his car, as he yelled at me demanding $45 for the trip.Desired Settlement: I feel the business and their drivers have the responsible of letting the client know the fees upfront for service, and showing the client how they arrived at those rates. They need to show that they value their customers that rely on their service. They need to provide an avenue for customer complaints, and seriously consider the customer's view, before they side with their drivers. In most cases, their drivers were not correct. There is no protection in this industry for the consumer, because the consumer and the driver are alone, and their are no witnesses in most instances, giving crooked drivers the opportunity to take advantage of passengers. They need to train their drivers to have respect passengers as well. In addition, I am seeking an apology for the poor service and a refund for at least $100, for three trips that I was overcharged for with no explanation by the bullying drivers.
