Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/06/15) */
I received a phone call from Ms.[redacted] shopping around for somebody to clean her drapes. It was clear the most important issue to her was the price. I quoted her an ammount giving her a 25% discount. She later brought them in to be cleaned. We...

did so with out any problems. Drapes are cleaned by themselves with no other items. The dull yellow/brown 2" stain she references is not something that occurred in the cleaning process, but oxidation of an old set stain that darkened from the heat in the cleaning process. Time will set any stain to become permanent. If the fabric is not cleaned to remove the stain prior to this stain becoming set, nothing will remove it. Drapes are probably the worst for this as they go through extreme exposure issues which set stains faster than that involving other fabrics. They have extreme daily warm, cold, sunlight UV and dark periods. A simple water stain from a window or sliding glass door will set permanent in a short period of time. When cleaned, that invisable set water stain will then turn dark so you can now see it. You will not notice the set stain until the heat from cleaning and pressing darken the stain. The idea of cleaning putting the original stain there on the fabric could not be further from what actually occurred. The stain was on the fabric and was set already. The now visible spot is just what happens to old stains when finally cleaned. As stated, the drapes are 13 years old and they have never been cleaned previously. Cleaning does not make stains nor can it remove any & all spots as described above. Knowing the issues with drapes I offerred to reclean that panel as a customer service, but explained all this to Ms [redacted] personally. She told me she would bring it back to reclean it last Wednesday, but never showed up. I would guess just about everyone has a garment in their closet with dull yellow/brown stains or that they have seen what I'm explaining here before. I would suggest Ms [redacted] contact a couple of other cleaners and perhaps this very common occurrance will be easier to grasp coming from an independant 3rd party. We did her drapes at a steep discount, offerred to reclean them if she so chose, and explained as thourghly as possible what she was seeing and why. I'll still be happy to reclean that panel if she wants, but as far as doing something megligent that caused the 2" discoloration she refers to, it is not because something yellow/brown was in the dry cleaning machine as she believes. As this is essentially the same explanation I offerred to Ms [redacted] previously, there is nothing additional that I can offer to clear up her concerns.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/06/17) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Consumer beware ! Don't take anything to High Country Cleaners you are not willing to risk being ruined.
I have had these same draperies cleaned 2 previous times with no problems. In fact I have never had anything ruined by a drycleaner before.
I did call around for prices, [redacted] in Thornton was $1.90 per pleat, and [redacted] in Brighton was $2.15. My unfortunate choice was based on convenience, as I shop at the Safeway in that same shopping center all the time.
"All she cares about is cheap" is one of the many disrespectful, slanderous comments made to me when I phoned with my concern.
I didn't choose to return because first, it was clear from the phone conversation I would not get any positive result, and second I didn't wish to subject myself to further rude, disrespectful, treatment. As a woman, I did not feel comfortable going into that business and speaking to that man by myself, and I felt it was just not worth it to find a witness to go in with me. I chose instead to file a complaint.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2015/06/26) */
The entire contents of the only conversation with Ms [redacted] was already restated in my original response. The phone discussion was very pleasant with the customer telling me she would bring the drape back the following Wednesday. My recommendation that she call a couple of other cleaners for the description of set stains darkening in the cleaning process was to give her the same explanation of this common occurrence from an independant 3rd party, not quote me their prices. Cleaning the drape did not put one random 1 1/2" stain on the fabric and this was covered several times. Another cleaner would tell her the same thing thing about oxidation of old set stains darkening the spot. In Ms [redacted]'s reply it's clear this has nothing to do with a 1 1/2" set stain in her drape panel. If your going to fabricate what was said, and attach quotation marks around your own words as if it were mine, I suggest you consult your attorney for what legal exposure you have in maliciously, intentionally trying to harm a business reputation based on what you have written. No business talks to customers like you have choosen to describe, let alone ours. I have no intentions to chase the changing "facts" as you have done in your response. I would assume if there was a shred of truth in your statements, that type of behavior would of been the issue and the subject of your complaint originally, not the 1 1/2" spot. Your drape stain has been thouroly explained, as well as offering information to follow up on this with any other cleaner. If I detect any additional statements like you have made in your reply, you will be the subject of a libel/slander lawsuit where your liabily will be judged. I will monitor all websites looking for your continued efforts to cause damages. We both know what was discussed, and the tone of that conversation. When I read your last reply, its clear you are not constrained by anything remotely resembling one word of the truth. I have no intentions of any further reply as this issue has been fully explained. If you proceed in the direction you have choosen, you will be contacted by my attorney in the form of a Summons.
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 11, 2015/07/01) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
No resolution has been reached. I requested a refund of the $62.40 I paid to have these draperies cleaned. There was no mark or stain when I dropped them off. Draperies were returned to me with a 2" copper colored stain in the pale linen colored fabric, thus ruining one panel of the matching set. Since my draperies are 13 years old, although in excellent condition, I chose not to pursue a small claims court action. Consumer beware of this business.
