I was forced by my HOA to get a lawn service for the weeds that were occurring all over the neighborhood. I couldn't afford to rip my whole lawn out and start fresh so I went with a lawn service. I shopped around and found that a one year commitment with these folks would cover what was needed by my HOA and be in my tight budget.
A year later and there is no improvement on the lawn, in fact I had to go in and have a second service help me to improve the home when it went up for sale and because my HOA was still upset there were weeds and I almost was fined $1k for this although I did have 2 services on the lawn, that second service was the only thing that kept this form occurring.
I didnt ask for my money back on the first year because I did sign a contract and some times that can bit you in the [redacted] with services when you pay ahead of time.
What I didnt know is that in teeny tiny writing I had signed a continual contract for lawn service. Then after I sold the house and I had not been getting any contact from the lawn service until I was two services in and owed them money. They certainly tracked me down at that point.
I should mentions they jacked the costs up for the next year and were charging me a bunch more money compared to my agreed on amount the year prior.. This is obviously a scam for elderly folks who are sometimes taken advantage of. Especially since they made the next services so pricey in the next term. The large amount of older folk living in that area are good prey for business like this.
I called and explained everything and asked them to close the account. I had to call back multiple times and got the run around. I even offered to pay for half the costs of the services since I didnt read the fine line and I was not living in the same spot for billing. I thought half was fair considering I didnt even own the home anymore.
They took weeks to get back to me through out the back and forth. Their final answer was no, although I didn't even live or own the home anymore and although the service was terrible to begin with and never worked to remove the weeds they promised the year before.
I told them if I paid this bill in full I would have to contact the Revdex.com and some local review services, they basically told me to go ahead. I was still suck paying the full bill. I guess if I had checked the many terrible reviews online prior to getting the service, I would have picked a better lawn service.

Turfmaster Lawn Services in Sarasota is not only ineffective in their services, based on my experience but they're greedy and mean spirited. I wouldn't have given them even one star.
I hired them to nurse my lawn back to health on a 6-treatment contract. After 5 months the first two treatments which were supposed to be especially robust, my lawn showed little to no results. During the 5 months I called them and had them come see the lack of results. Only excuses from them. Not wanting to waist any more time or money on them, I called and advised I was canceling the contract due to lack of results. I told them I am not buying treatments, I am paying for results.
They refused to cancel my contract and kept bullying me into paying for more treatments. Call after call to the office to speak with the manager named Connie resulted in not one callback to me. I advised them through message after message that our dispute had to be discussed with a manager. The final bill was only $60 but I felt strongly about not paying them any more for no value in return.
This week I get a notice in the mail from a collection agency. They turned my $60 final service into a $264 collection! Talk about adding injury to insult!
