High & Dry Roofing Reviews (10)

Both my boyfriend (now husband) and I used High and Dry Roofing 14 years ago on our respective houses to have the roofs redone, GUARANTEED as long as we had them recoat them every 5 years. They had put the original roof on my boyfriends house. My leaks did not disappear so I never used them again after they could not/would not fix the leaks. My husband has continued to use High and Dry Roofing, every 5 yrs having them recoat his roof for a large sum, even though his roof continues to leak. High and Dry used every excuse not to fix his leaks and unfortunately, my husband fell for them because High and Dry had put on the original roof and he was sure they would stand behind their word and eventually fix the leaks. 14 years later, now that we are married and are looking to sell his house, this spring, after paying once again and being promised that this time the leak would be fixed, we had to hire a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT roofing company, who had to tear apart the whole roof because it was the only way to repair the leak. All of this should have been done from the beginning. I would say DO NOT trust this company. They do shoddy work from the beginning and are not reliable.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Gentlemen;Upon review of the response left, I feel as though we may be dealing with a jeckyl & hyde personality!  Responding to that synopsis of his recolection of the incidents that occurred would require a complete  prefrontal lobotomy!  This guy is insane, most of the facts are completely misrepresented(lied about) and there is nothing really stated as to a resolution.....but here goes what really happened AGAIN!1. Firstly, I had suggested from the beginning that we wait to start the job until he was back from vacation to supervise his trusty employees,  I have been in a supervisory role in my employment for the last 25 years and know that "when the cats away, the mice will play",  That saying is a reality when dealing with employees!2. After his men showed up two days late, they stayed for a total of 30mins and left for the rest of the day.  They returned the next day and stayed for about 1 1/2 hours and left again stating they needed to get materials.  Which they NEVER RETURNED WITH the next day.3,  After [redacted] had returned from his vacation, almost two weeks to the day later, he surveyed the work his employees had done and said that it wasn't done correctly and thats why he had to fix it!! As you can see from the photos(which I have many more) this is how he left my house and said the work was done and he emailed me an invoice that evening.  The final straw was his nasty text he sent me when I asked him to complete the work!  Now he changes his story AGAIN! an says oh! the work needed a final inspection, just trying to cover his butt so to speak.4. I want my roof fixed as it is not .....as you can quite CLEARLY see from the photos!!!5. Since HIGH & DRY ROOFING has left my house most of his replaced tile have fallen of the house, I have additional photos and another Roofing companys estimate to Repair the mess that HIGH & DRY left.  I dont think it is fair for me to pay twice for this repair, so again I would like High & Dry to pay a qualified roofing company to fix his mess, that is the resloution I offerThank you

Regards,

Dear Sirs:  As you can tell by his attitude and the language that he uses, he has no intention of paying for the work that he hired us to do. In the beginning he stated that I was not allowed on his property and could only talk to him by text.  I was never allowed to meet with him to discuss what corrections might be needed and he does not respond to my texts.  He has not responded to me or tried to contact me in any way since this started.  My last text to him is as follows and I received no response:  "[redacted], I haven't received a ck for the work that was done.  Let's meet as you offered and work this out.  From my side I really wonder what this is actually about.  Do you feel because you think I had an attitude that gives you the right to not pay for the work that was done.  Surely not.  If you want me to come back and address whatever problem there seems to be, I will.  If you want a consideration, I might, lets talk this out and get it over with.  You were far from friendly to me and like I said maybe we were both too thin skinned, but after over two weeks surely you are over it".  I received no response to the text.  My question is, how am I supposed to work anything out with him when he won't respond.  I have ask that his friend that referred me to him meet with us and we try to work out whatever issues there are.  This is what normal people do and I don't know what else to do.  If he won't talk, won't meet and just wants to go on about how evil I am then I have no answer.  We repaired several things on the roof including plywood and roof leaks.  He makes it sound that everything that was done was not effective and I know that is not the case.He owes us over $1600.00 and asks that I pay for some other company to come and re do the job?  Really?I have a thirty one year reputation and that means a lot more than one man's words.  I have had less than ten complaints in those thirty one years and have worked out any problems with anyone that was reasonable enough to try and work them out.  Mistakes, yes we have had our share but have always tried to make them right and always will.  I will do the same in this case, if given the chance.  As far as [redacted]'s proposal since he is a car man:  A guy goes out and buys a car and for whatever reason doesn't like it or the salesman.  So he goes back to the dealer and says "I don't like this car and I think it was misrepresented, so I want you to buy me a car at the lot across the street"  That doesn't make a lot of sense, does it. and add  to that, he never paid for the first car!!!

High & Dry coated my main house flat roof in 2005 and again in 2012. I learned today (1/10/14) that the roof needs extensive repair and recoating for large bubbles, cracks and leaks in the coating. In 2012 I was also told by High & Dry that my guest house roof was "fine." It was not. It had hail damage dating back to 2010 and fascia rain pooling damage. My experience with the company in 2012 was awful. Had serious communication issues with the owner/manager. I will never use this roofing company again and cannot recommend them to anyone.

Dar Sirs:Don't really know how to respond to this.  I was going on vacation and he said it would be ok to have the men work on his roof while I was gone.  When I spoke to him from my vacation he pretty much ripped the workers and the work.  I know my men and my first reaction...

was to defend them.  They work hard in intense heat and having worked with them for several years, what he was saying did not fit the men.  I did tell him that we should just wait until I got back and let me look at it.  I honestly did my best to make things light.  He said that the trim the men had put on in a section of the roof was terrible and the roofs around the neighborhood were much better.  When he drove me around to look at the work he himself could see that it was not all that great.  I tried to make light of it (the fact that he was hard pressed to find something better) and when he finally found a roof where the trim did look good I agreed and said I would match that quality,  I installed the trim myself and I think it looks good.  The man never smiled never said anything good about anyone or anything and finally blew up over a text message.  I told him I didn't like text messages for that very reason and ask him to call me.  I apologized to him in the final text that I sent him and said that we were probably both a little thin skinned.  He has told me not to step foot on his property and I am waiting to receive a check for the work I have done.  This is really not that big of a deal.  Had he called me like I ask I don't think he would have taken what I said so harshly.  The texts are all available and I will gladly let anyone see them that would like.  The job was not finished completely as I needed to make a final inspection and look at the work that he considered inadequate.  High & Dry Roofing stands behind it's work and will correct anything deemed inadequate.  This job was a referral of a good friend of both of ours and he doesn't even want the friend to mediate for us.  I am open to a mediator to meet with us and work this out.  I want to be paid for all the work that was done.  I never said it was a one day job and many of his accusations are out of context and can be explained if someone wants to listen. His attitude was certainly no better than what he accuses me of.  I tried to work this out but all he seems to want to do is accuse.  I stand by a record of over thirty years in this business (and a tough one it is) and having been able to work things out in nearly every one of the few issues that have arisen in that time.   I say let's get a mediator to look at things, fix anything that is deemed not up to par, shake hands and go on with our lives, they are short enough as it is.

Hired High and Dry for a roof repair. Excellent job on repair in a timely manner with reasonable charge.

Review: The above named bussiness was solicticed and hired to repair roofing issues at my residence. The small repair took alot longer than a single day as advised by the business owner, almost three weeks and the job is still not finished. The business owner was on vacation for two of those weeks, he chose to send his employees without his supervision leading to multitude of omissions even after a conversation with myself advising the business owner to wait until he returns. After severval days after the scheduled start date the workers showed up at my residence, removed some roofing tiles then didn't show up again for two days leaving my roof exposed to the arizona monsoon. This situation went on for another week with the employees showing up here and there doing little or no work on various days. Upon their so called completion, I asked the workers why certain areas of the roof had not been repaired, even though I was being charged for as stated by the contract, the response was that it didnt need it! The following monday I phoned the business owner expecting he was back from his vacation and advised him of the issues I was having. He immediately accused me of not knowing what had been done and sided with his employees with extreme forcfulness. About ten minutes later he called me and apologized for his behavior and said he would look at it when he returned. Upon his return,,,,another week he varified the staements I had Made were true and accurate. The repair was made poorly only after there was addition made to the original contract staing more work was needed. During this time there were severval verbal exchanges that resulted in the business owner losing control of his temper at my expense. Just wanting to be done with this whole situation I tolerated his attitude. After he said he was finished I inspected his work only to find a 3-4 inch gap in his roofing repair,,,so guess what happened when I phoned him,,,He lost his temper again and at this point with my level of frustration I feel I cannot endure snymore of his abuse.Desired Settlement: I would like to have a reputable roofer's estimate to repair [redacted]'s High and Dry poor workmanship at their expense
