In regards to the response from High Maintenance, he is telling a version that I don't agree with at allYes, he did offer to install a new top panelThat would be pointless because I had already paid AE Doors to fix itThey assured me the opener was fine and would last another 8-yearsHe never requested a receipt from them and he didn't even give me a receipt for his workAlso, he never checked with me about the door working properly as I wasn't home when he finishedHe was in a hurry to leave as told to me by my sonHe left quite a mess and we picked up nails and screws for daysAs far as speaking to the Menards rep, he only knew to contact him because I contacted themHe also refused to call him when he was at my house, so I don't know what occurred in that conversationHe left me a message with the number and that was itI didn't hear from him again, even after I called himThe first response I received was when I sent him the letter requesting reimbursementHe was quick to reply again that it wasn't his responsiblility and he offered to replace the top panelI told him that it was not needed and I wanted a reimbursementHe then told me that I was not to contact him again because it was considered harrassmentI have a copy of those e-mailsI will not contact him because I am not sure what he will doSo, even though I am not satisfied, I am not going to continue to haggle with himI have just learned a difficult lesson and have become a little less trusting of people. *** ***

This is concerning a letter that I received today concerning a customer and a garage door. The original garage door was creased at the top panel due to the improper installation...

of the garage door opener. I installed the garage door per specs from the manufacture. I have installed several units and have not had one issue with any installation. In fact two of the customers referred me to somebody else needing a garage door installed. I have also made repairs on existing units that I have not installed and was 100% successful. The garage door opened, closed and per specs held at approximately 2 feet off the ground. The customer was told that the opener caused the original issue and needed to be looked at. I do not repair garage door openers, only replace them. She was also told that if there were any other issues with the garage door opener to unhook it and not use it. At no time was she without the use of a garage door. Again as I stated the garage door was in 100% working condition. . I then went out with the customer home and made sure that she saw the garage door open, close and stop approximately 2 feet off the ground. She was satisfied with the fact that the door was in proper working condition. I called the store that I purchased the door from and talked to the sales person that she talked to when I was at her house. He was with a customer and said he would call me back. I ended up calling him back the next day because he didn't return my call. I set up a face to face meeting with him and went in to see him. She told me that he said there were parts missing. He said that he told her nothing of parts missing, he also stated to me that he was not able in any way to state that the installation was right or wrong. He then gave me the 1-800 phone number for the garage door company. I talked to them and they said that the garage door was installed properly from what I had told them.

There was also a special bracket installed for the opener that is required by the manufacture. When I went out to check the complaint from the customer, the bracket was pulled out of the garage door and bent. There had to be more than 100lbs of pressure to bend the bracket the way it was. This was the same problem she had with her first garage door. She also stated and showed me that her garage door was not working properly days before I even began the installation of her garage door. Nothing in any way on the garage door itself could have done that. When the opener was adjusted by the contractor that she knows, it was improperly adjusted and not tested per the specifications of the garage door opener company. She refused to show me proof of any other bills from any other company and per her email that I will attach, she made no request she made a demand. I was willing to replace the top panel at a cost of 165.00 plus tax and install it both at no charge, which would have been well over the 200.00 range that she is requesting. I am still at tis time willing to give her a top panel at no charge to her. I will not in any way install it at this time. The top panel is not correct and has a crease in it due to the pressure of the opener applying way to much pressure.
