Dave is a certified GE repairman so we hired him to fix our GE refrigerator which was making an annoying moaning soundIn March of he replaced the freezer evaporator fan which solved the noise problem; however, he admittedly installed it incorrectly so all the the food in the refrigerator froze and food in the freezer thawedHe came back and fixed the problem with the fan but did not reimburse us for more than $in spoiled foodHe told us there is a day warranty on GE partsIn September of we were once again having problems with the freezerThis time we called a GE repairman who actually works for GEThat repairman said that Dave had not sealed the wires on the fan properly so condensation had caused it to malfunctionHe replaced the fan at no charge and now the freezer is working wellHe told us that GE parts are warranted for FIVE years! We confirmed this with a second GE repairmanWe then talked to Dave and he told us again that GE parts are guaranteed for only daysWe question why he's only offering a day warranty when GE actually has a five year warranty? We were also disappointed he didn't offer to reimburse us for spoiled food
